The fan-made Dragon Ball Demon Breaker project, being developed by the Saiya-Slash team and ATLAS studios, has made quite the impact within the Dragon Ball community. The gameplay is inspired by Devil May Cry and revolves around the half-Saiyan swordsman Trunks as he attempts to defeat the Time Breaker Organization, an evil forces made famous by the Dragon Ball Xenoverse titles. The newest Dragon Ball Demon Breaker trailer has released and welcomes fan-favorite characters Goku and Vegeta to the action.

The previous trailer for the fan game highlighted the Devil May Cry-like combat and showed off Trunks' ability to turn Super Saiyan. The newest Dragon Ball Demon Breaker trailer not only introduces Goku and Vegeta, but also shows off notable improvements from six months ago. The environment is more developed, and the character models appear more refined. The trailer also highlights three different ki-blast types, which will add to the combo-driven combat.

Although Goku and Vegeta make an appearance in the trailer, they only appear as support characters. Goku acts as an offensive support, bringing his signature Power Pole to unleash a combo on enemies. The Saiyan prince Vegeta assists using a long-range ki-blast combo.

Both Goku and Vegeta are able to turn Super Saiyan during their assist moves, but this is most likely based on the support meter, which appears much like assists in other fighting games such as the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm series and One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows. It is possible that Goku and Vegeta will become playable characters, but may be far off in development due to the game being a fan project.

The trailer also shows off next transformation for Trunks. Trunks is able to transform into a Super Saiyan God and wield the legendary Keysword from the non-canon Super Dragon Ball Heroes manga. While Trunks was never able to achieve this transformation in the original manga, it seems Dragon Ball Demon Breaker will be based on the alternate time-patrol Trunks.

Although it is not an officially licensed title, the trailer of Dragon Ball Demon Breaker reveals a playable demo will release on February 17, 2021. The trailer also sets a tentative release date of Summer 2021, but will most likely need permissions from Toei Animation and FUNimation to use any trademarked material. Dragon Ball Demon Breaker is a unique take on the Dragon Ball Z franchise with gameplay that should appeal to many fans. Since Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and Dragon Ball FighterZ have disappointed some, fans may want to see this fan-made project come to fruition.

Dragon Ball Demon Breaker is a fan project currently in development.
