Dragon Ball: The Breakers' official Japanese Twitter account gave a friendly reminder of its upcoming worldwide release date alongside a tease of a fan-favorite villain arriving in Season 2. Dragon Ball: The Breakers is currently live in Japan with a release date of October 14th for everywhere else in the world. While details are currently scant on this newest addition to the game as well as when Season 2 will arrive, the reveal may still provide fans of the series with a bit of excitement for what's to come.

Breakers is an asymmetric multiplayer survival game that pits one super-powered villain from the Dragon Ball universe against seven ordinary citizens bearing a power level of 5. The goal for survivors in Dragon Ball: The Breakers is to last long enough to escape while the villain's only goal is to wipe them out. The current roster of baddies includes Cell, Buu, and Frieza who each have their own perks that cause them to grow more powerful over the course of a match. Killing survivors isn't the only path to victory as villains can also destroy certain areas of the map to lower the chance of escape. This strategy appears to line up perfectly for the latest villain revealed for season 2.

Included in the aforementioned tweet posted on October 12th, 2022 was a reveal trailer ending with a tease of Great Ape Vegeta joining the villainous ranks in season 2. While only a still image and no in-game footage was shown, Vegeta could be seen in his great ape form and full Saiyan armor which leaves no doubt that he will be joining Cell, Buu, and Frieza to torment survivors sometime in the future.

Asymmetric online multiplayer games such as Dead by Daylight have begun finding more success as of late and Dragon Ball: The Breakers appears to have all the components necessary to make a splash in the genre. With a roster of hundreds of villains as well as various powered-up variants of those villains to choose from, there is plenty of content to eventually add in should the developer continue to support the game. The only question now is whether fans will flock to it or not.

While its longevity won't be made clear until a good time following its worldwide launch in a couple of days, the inclusion of characters like Great Ape Vegeta may mean other fan-favorite villains from the Dragon Ball universe like Demon King Piccolo could find their way into the game in the future.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers will release worldwide on October 14th, 2022 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
