Bioware's eagerly anticipated sequel to 2009's Dragon Age: Origins now has an extended cut of it's amazing 'Destiny' trailer. The new Dragon Age 2 video, which can be seen below, now features about 40 seconds of new footage showcasing more scenes of Hawke kicking ass.

Having revealed the original trailer at Gamescom, Bioware has proven again to gamers that they can make a fantastic CG trailer. If what Hawke does in 'Destiny' is indicative of how gamers will be dispatching enemies in Dragon Age 2, I can't wait to see actual gameplay footage. CG trailers have been a point of contention for gamers for as long as I can remember, but I have to admit, after watching 'Destiny' I'm dying to play the game.

Bioware has announced several changes for Dragon Age 2. Perhaps the biggest is in Hawke himself; a character that isn't defined by the player, but instead by Bioware. Despite that, players will still have the option of what class to play as they progress through the game as the human Hawke. As seen in the trailer, Hawke looks just as cool using melee weapons as he does with fire. Upon learning about the new directions Bioware is going in and checking out the screenshots, I was on the fence with Dragon Age 2 at first. However, after watching the trailer and considering Bioware's track record, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Game Rant gave their last two releases, Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins a 4 and 4.5 out of 5 respectively, so I'd say they've earned it.

What about you, reader? Looking forward to Dragon Age 2? Are you happy with more media of an upcoming game, no matter what it is? Should Bioware's fans be more critical of media that isn't in-game? Have you written the game off due to the changes Bioware is making? Share your opinions in the comments below!

Dragon Age 2 releases on March 8th, 2011 in North America and March 11, 2011 in Europe on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
