The long-awaited third season of Dr. Stone finally has a release window fans can look forward to. The story will kick off after the special 54-minute long Dr. Stone: Ryusui that served as an introduction for this new character that will play a very important role moving forward.This special showcased a new version of the opening from Season 1 Good Morning World. It also fueled the new direction of the story that will see Senku and his friends traveling through the sea to find the possible source of the petrification according to his calculations and suppositions. Though an exact release date has yet to be announced, the anime will premiere in April as part of the Spring 2023 season. The new season, which will be called Dr. Stone: New World, will follow the main cast as they discover what the rest of the world looks like after the petrification catastrophe. A brand new key visual featuring Senku, Kohaku, Chrome, Gen, Ryusui, and a new character yet to be revealed was also revealed.

TMS Entertainment will return to handle the series' animation. All the main cast is expected to return for the upcoming season as well. The new series will adapt two arcs from the manga; the Age of Exploration Arc and the Treasure Island Arc.

The Dr.Stone manga ran from March 2017-March 2022 and was collected into 26 tankobon volumes. The series was published by Shueisha while Viz Media publishes the series in English. The Dr.Stone anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
