Of all the mobile games released by Nintendo in recent years, including Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, the puzzle-based Dr. Mario World has not been as successful financially. However, it has continued to receive support with a bizarre line of characters in doctor coats, from a tower of Goombas and a dolphin to its newest addition: Baby Wario.

Baby Wario will become available at 3:00 a.m. PT, June 26, according to his announcement via the Dr. Mario World Twitter account. Though the text of the tweet by a red virus says that Dr. Baby Wario proves even he was "cute" at one point, plenty of people on social media have had very different reactions seeing the youngster's uncannily adult-like face complete with an engorged pink nose.

Funnily enough, this is not the first time that Baby Wario has appeared in the Super Mario canon. He was one of the five playable baby partners in 2006's Yoshi's Island DS, and based on the picture of Dr. Baby Wario released on Twitter it appears he will retain the golden magnet used in that original appearance.

Though Nintendo has had some huge successes in the mobile market, primarily with Niantic's Pokemon GO and Intelligent System's Fire Emblem Heroes, the success of the Switch has led to Nintendo shifting focus back into the console market. It's unclear how that will affect Dr. Mario World, but if the game keeps adding characters like Baby Wario it should live on in the realm of memes, if nothing else.

Dr. Mario World is available now on iOS and Android.
