Today, September 1, streamer TimTheTatman made the shocking announcement that he had signed an exclusivity deal with YouTube Gaming. He’s following DrLupo and Jack “CouRage” Dunlop who also recently made the jump to YouTube. The announcement video takes a hilarious look at TimTheTatman’s “past,” as well as his future.
Fans were quick to make some major connections with this move to YouTube, though. Since Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch, he and TimTheTatman have not been able to stream together. It was once even reported that they were barred from even playing off-stream together, which is about as bizarre as the whole ordeal is. Now, no matter what, there’s nothing stopping them.
Dr Disrespect and TimTheTatman have a good relationship as seen on their social media. They are always ribbing each other over one game of Warzone or another, with Dr Disrespect often making joking references to his flip phone and Lambo. Since the announcement happened so recently, not much has been said between the two, but Dr Disrespect dropped a nice “Timmy?” on TimTheTatman's announcement post (with the latter responding with a hilarious selfie).
Immediately, that simple tweet as well as TimTheTatman’s announcement became covered in fans expressing joy that the two streamers are “back together again.” It seems that a stream announcement with the two playing together is only a matter of time, and it’s likely to make many fans even happier than the fact it’s now a possibility. No such announcement has come yet, to be clear, but it seems inevitable.
While many see this as good news for the two streamers and it certainly is, it’s only the latest chapter in the ongoing story about Dr Disrespect and Twitch. Many know he was banned over a year ago, with no reason ever provided and the Doc himself only learning why a couple of months ago, and that’s one reason why fans never saw the two players together—at least in theory.
After recently revealing that he learned why he was banned, Doc said that he was taking legal action against Twitch. He alleges that it damaged his ability to work with brands, and indeed, that is understandable. Tons of rumors flew around Doc's Twitch ban, including some believing there was a criminal element, but how long it has been now has severely diminished that rumor. This means that fans may not learn what happened for quite some time themselves yet, but at least, there is bound to be more Dr Disrespect and TimTheTatman in the near future.
