In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Dr. Disrespect opened up a bit about his ban and the future of his streaming career. While the transcript is full of reassurance from Dr. Disrespect that the Doc will return and that his streaming career is not over, there was also some hints that the streamer is considering taking legal action against Twitch.

For those that haven't kept up with the situation, Dr. Disrespect, one of Twitch's most influential streamers, was suddenly and inexplicably perma-banned from Twitch about three weeks ago. Since then, he has remained relatively silent about the affair, but did come out to say that Twitch has not informed him of the reason.

In the interview, Dr. Disrespect further confirms that he himself doesn't even know the reason for his ban, and likens it to going to work one day to find the door locked and a note saying "you're fired."

Dr Disrespect not on YouTube claims insider

This whole situation puts Dr. Disrespect's response to the ban, or rather lack thereof, into perspective. During the interview, he even states a few times that he has to be careful about what he says for legal reasons. If he really is planning on taking Twitch to court, it could be that he hasn't touched base with fans much in order to make sure he didn't say anything that could be used against him. If this does escalate into a legal matter, it could see some clarification on the rights of streamers working on Twitch and other platforms as well.

The most striking thing about the whole situation is the complete lack of communication from all parties. Dr. Disrespect and his team claim that Twitch never once communicated with him about an impending ban or shared the reason for the ban, while the streamer himself has also remained very quiet. As a result, rumors and conspiracy theories have flooded social media, something which the doctor doesn't seem interested in engaging with at the moment. Despite Dr. Disrespect expressing regret for not joining Mixer, he did clarify that he isn't looking into any exclusivity agreements at the moment.

This served as a rare opportunity to get a little bit more insight on the situation, but unfortunately didn't reveal much. It seems as though fans know just about as much as Dr. Disrespect does about the bizarre Twitch ban at this point, but hopefully more info will come to light soon.
