While some things have changed in Call of Duty: Warzone over the last year and a half since the Battle Royale launched, other aspects of the game have remained the same. Players have been dropping into the war-torn streets of Verdansk, Warzone’s massive map, for over a year now. Despite making some modifications over the months, many players have wanted the developers to add an entirely new map to the game. Fortunately, it seems that this is finally happening after the developers revealed the new Warzone Pacific map. While many gamers like what they see, popular streamer Dr. Disrespect noticed a resemblance to another Battle Royale game on the market.

Known for streaming a number of FPS games, Dr. Disrespect often finds himself playing Warzone with other popular streamers. While there are aspects of the game he likes, the Doc has criticized Call of Duty on numerous occasions. So when a new map for the Battle Royale was announced, fans of the streamer wanted him to check it out.

In a recent live stream on YouTube, Dr. Disrespect decided to watch the reveal video for the Warzone Pacific map after numerous requests from his fans. As the Doc watched the video, his excitement about the Battle Royale moving to a new location was evident. However, the streamer thought that the new Warzone location had similarities to a map from PUBG. Despite pointing out this interesting resemblance to another Battle Royale, he still seemed impressed with the overall look of the map. “Nice, I like this,” the Doc said in reference to the visuals for the new map.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has been around for a number of years, and the Doc is no stranger to this Battle Royale either. Before the existence of other games in the genre such as Warzone, he frequently played the game. While PUBG contains quite a few maps, Dr. Disrespect is probably referring to the mid-sized map Sanhok when making his Warzone comparison. This 2018 map has a tropical island setting similar to the one found in the upcoming Warzone Pacific map.

This news regarding Warzone’s new map comes as the next installment in the franchise Call of Duty: Vanguard prepares for launch. Promising more of the exciting multiplayer action players expect from the series along with a new campaign set during the events of World War 2, the game looks to be one of the most popular games releasing at the end of the year. Furthermore, a beta for the game is coming to multiple platforms during September.

It will be interesting to see the opinions of Warzone streamers such as Dr. Disrespect when this new tropical-themed map releases later this year. With other Battle Royales such as PUBG and Apex Legends having multiple maps already, Call of Duty players seem anxious to take the fight to a new location.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
