As the countdown to the release date for Halo Infinite continues, many more gamers are getting a chance to jump into the action as part of a set of multiplayer previews. These events have given those that signed up for the Halo Insider program the opportunity to test the game’s multiplayer experience. Among the players checking out the gameplay are a number of high-profile streamers such as Dr Disrespect.

Never one to keep his opinions to himself, the YouTube streamer Dr Disrespect has quite a history with FPS titles. Over his impressive career in streaming, he has played numerous shooters such as Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends, and PUBG. He even worked as a level designer on the Call of Duty series before becoming a full-time content creator. In addition, the Doc knows his way around Halo Infinite as he recently tried the first tech preview in August and has jumped back into the action for the multiplayer preview going on throughout this weekend. However, the Doc believes that the developers at 343 need to add one important feature from the Call of Duty series to be successful.

After playing the most recent multiplayer preview for Halo Infinite, Dr. Disrespect had some comments on how to make the game better. Specifically, he believed that the developers needed to add a proximity chat feature to multiplayer games. After playing a few matches, the Doc said that he felt like something was missing from the experience. According to the streamer, the in-game energy was low and that matches often felt “empty.” He claimed that adding proximity chat would fix the issue as it “creates energy around that particular game that you’re playing in.”

Despite this criticism about the multiplayer preview, the popular streamer had a number of things he liked about the game as well. In particular, he noted that the map designs in Halo Infinite were solid. According to the Doc, all three maps had a nice feel to them and helped mix up the gameplay. In addition, he admitted that this was still just a preview of the game and decided to withhold judgment until the “entire package” was seen.

Beyond this current multiplayer preview, the developers have planned even more opportunities for players to check out other facets of the game. Next weekend, gamers are getting a chance to dive into Big Team Battle mode for the first time. With the game still a few months away from release, it will be interesting to see if the developers decide to add this feature suggested by the Doc.

Halo Infinite releases December 8, 2021, for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
