With Halloween only a couple of weeks away, many gamers are getting into the spooky festivities. While the holiday provides fans with the perfect reason to dress up as some of their favorite video game characters, YouTube streamer Dr Disrespect has given gamers a different challenge. Instead of cosplaying as popular video game character, the Doc is hosting a competition for his fans to copy his iconic look.

Dr Disrespect is one of the most popular streamers on YouTube. Playing a variety of games, such as Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends, he is known for his high-octane gameplay and exciting personality. On top of this, the streamer has become famous for his memorable gaming persona. Sporting a dark mullet, smooth shades, and red vest, it’s virtually impossible to confuse the Doc with someone else. However, the popular streamer is trying to change that.

Recently, Dr Disrespect announced that he was going to be hosting a contest during the Halloween season. Called “Doctober,” the competition gives fans the chance to show off their best costume based on the popular streamer. This is the second time the contest has been held, as London, an 11-year-old, won the first prize back in 2020 with a stunning representation of the Doc.

There are few rules to keep in mind for those anxious to don the streamer’s iconic shades and mullet. To enter the Doc’s Halloween competition, contestants must dress up as Dr Disrespect and then take a picture or video showing off their outfit. Lastly, the photo or video must be tweeted with the hashtag “#Doctober2021.”

In addition to the glory of being known as the best impersonator of the Doc, the 3 top contestants receive some impressive prizes. The third-place contestant wins a merch package, a signed peripheral package, and a permanent spot in the Arena (Dr Disrespect’s streaming community). Second place earns the same prizes as third along with peripherals used by the streamer. First place also wins the same prizes as third but receives an original pair of Oakley glasses signed by Dr Disrespect as well. Furthermore, the top prize winner gets the opportunity to play duos with the streamer.

Besides the “Doctober” contest, other streamers have tried to replicate Dr Disrespect’s look with varying degrees of success. Last summer, TimTheTatman attempted to copy the Doc’s look after he received a Chipotle Supply kit. Dubbed “Dr. Foodrespect” by the members of his community, Tim gave his fans his unique albeit modest cosplay of the Doc. In addition to TimTheTatman, TSM Viss pulled off a more accurate cosplay of Dr Disrespect after he decided to dress up as the iconic streamer for a charity event.

It will be interesting to see what fans come up with for "Doctober" 2021. Based on the entries from last year’s event, it looks like there should be some impressive Dr Disrespect look-a-likes appearing on Twitter in the coming days.
