Call of Duty: Warzone just got a massive update with the arrival of its new Season One. Now that Black Ops Cold War is out and integrated with Call of Duty: Warzone, the battle royale has a new Gulag experience for fallen players. However, it seems popular streamer and map designer Dr Disrespect wants the chance to create an even better Gulag map.

The big content update for Call of Duty: Warzone introduced a new Gulag in the form of an enclosed Nuketown map. Players now get captured, interrogated, and thrown into one of the most famous Black Ops map. While the experience itself is new, players quickly took to the internet to complain about Nuketown being used in yet another part of the Call of Duty experience. It didn’t take Doc many matches before he also started to complain.

The two-time champ tweeted out a request to Activision to let him design a map for the Call of Duty: Warzone Gulag. His plans for this new map weren’t included in the Tweet, but it is likely that he already has something in mind. As one of the most popular streamers around and a former competitive pro, Dr Disrespect is no stranger to map design.

Dr Disrespect showcased his map-designing skills earlier in 2020 when Rogue Company allowed him to create a map titled “The Arena.” That transaction began in a similar way, with Doc tweeting a request to design a map. Many players and streamers have praised his map design as being one of the game's best.

While it looks like the majority of Doc’s followers are excited about this possibility, there are some who are voicing concerns. Since the streamer is such a competitive player, there is a worry that any Gulag he designs would be too tactical and end up giving more hardcore players an advantage when facing casual ones. Since the Gulag is a place where all Call of Duty: Warzone players are given an equal second chance to get back into the game, the idea of a more competitive map is drawing outcry from those who simply want to have fun.

There is no word yet from Activision about Dr Disrespect’s request. Ever since Doc was suddenly banned from Twitch in the middle of 2020, there is a cloud hanging over his head as fans wonder which companies will want to work with him and which might want to stay away. If Activision ends up not taking Doc up on his offer, it would still be interesting to see some blueprints for what he might be imagining.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
