Popular Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect recently responded to the on-going drama concerning Alinity's treatment of her cats. For those who haven't been keeping up, Alinity has come under fire for throwing her cat on stream, giving it vodka in the past, and a history of alleged animal abuse. It has gone so far that PETA wants her banned from Twitch, and there is even a petition circulating to get her banned.
Fans of Dr Disrespect will not be surprised by his reaction to the situation, as he basically goes on about how he doesn't care and how Twitch viewers should be focused on him. It's worth adding that this could just be part of his persona, as Dr Disrespect hardly breaks character (only having done so recently to apologize for his E3 bathroom ban controversy), so this should be taken as a tongue-in-cheek response.
Twitch has a reputation to show favoritism and inconsistency when it comes to bans, and many consider this Alinity controversy to be proof of that. So, when the Champions Club asked Dr Disrespect for his opinion, many may have been surprised by his reaction. He stumbles over her name (on purpose), claims to not even know who she is, and says he isn't one to care about others' situation. "What are your thoughts on Anility... Anility… Anihilated and her situation?...Like I said, I don’t really care. I’m not the other people who for whatever reason care so much about other people’s situations."
He then goes on to say that he is the face of Twitch, so viewers should be focused on him instead of Alinity. "You’re looking at the face [of Twitch]! Like, I don’t even care! You think I’m concerned about that? Should be focused on me!" As aforementioned, however, many do not feel the same way as the Doc. A Twitch director weighed in on the idea of her ban, though he has no power over moderation, and other online personalities like Keem have claimed that Alinity has dirt on Twitch staff to explain why she hasn't been banned.
Concerning Twitch's inconsistent reputation, the Doc expresses the opinion that it only matters to him if it were to affect him in some way. It remains to be seen if this whole Alinity situation results in her ban or eventually blows over, but it's worth adding that Alinity herself claimed that she would not be banned by the streaming platform, though those harassing her over the situation might be.
