In April 2010, Venus Stewart disappeared. Her husband Doug was found guilty of her murder in 2011, but his wife's body was never discovered until here recently. It seems the police visited Doug year after year, trying to get him to reveal where he disposed of the body.

Year after year, Doug denied any and all involvement, insisting that he had nothing to do with the disappearance of Venus. Although the criminal portion of the investigation was over, police kept this up in order to give the family closure. Now, Doug has revealed how he murdered his wife and where he buried her in exchange for two things, including an Xbox One.

The first was access to certain prison programs, though these were never fully disclosed. The second was the Xbox One, and many may be shocked to learn he bartered his way into such luxury item while serving life in prison. While his sentence hasn't changed, his overall condition may have improved if he did, in fact, receive his requested Xbox.

Doug led police straight to the body, as it was near two tree stumps that served as landmarks. Although the body wasn't identified immediately, police were sure it was Venus. Then, Doug also went on record detailing her murder and revealing how he choked her to unconsciousness, moved her to the woods, waited for her to regain consciousness, and then killed and buried her.

Doug also claimed that he revealed the truth in order to ease his conscience, as he claimed to no longer want "this burden" on the family or his self. Of course, this didn't stop the requests for an Xbox, but at the very least, Venus's family now has some form of closure from what may have been a living nightmare for them.

It is worth mentioning that the Michigan Department of Corrections has made a statement, in which it denied giving into the demands for the Xbox One. However, Doug is contained in a 140-inmate unit for military veterans where donated gaming units are expected to be installed soon, but they will not be able to access the internet and will be regulated strictly. In other words, they will not be allowed to make contact with the outside world and will not be allowed to play violent video games.
