In the world of MOBAs, strategy and skill come above all else. Dedicated players spend hundreds of hours mastering their preferred characters, so that they are ready for the next match. The community's extreme commitment to the game is a major part of why DOTA 2 and other MOBAs (like Heroes of the Storm) make such great e-sports entertainment. As a competitive player, it's nice to be able to make some small aesthetic changes to keep things fresh while pouring insane amounts of time into the game.

To help players out on this front, the DOTA 2 community of modders is constantly hard at work building alternate skins for the game's characters. The game's character skins have become incredibly popular, inspired some of the game's best cosplay, and given players a chance to stand out in a crowd of chaos.

With Star Wars day (May the fourth) just a week behind us and long-awaited sequels to both the film franchise and the Star Wars Battlefront game series coming later this this year, Star Wars fever has even made its way to DOTA 2. A new mod allows players to transform the Juggernaut into the most iconic villain in the galaxy far, far away.

Steam user RustardGaming modded DOTA 2's Juggernaut into Darth Vader and uploaded the above video to YouTube. The skin doesn't add the black cape and suit, but does add a fantastic replica of Vader's hemet. As gamers might hope, the mod also replaces the Juggernaut's usual weapon with a red lightsaber for sci-fi slicing and dicing.

As an added homage to the character's younger days, the mod also adds R2-D2. The bot takes the place of the character's healing ward and becomes a fantastic companion. The mod's best features are the sound effects for the lightsaber and the droid, both of which make it feel like the player is really in the Star Wars universe.

For now, players are able to download the mod from the source. Due to the copyright issues that tend to follow unauthorized Star Wars mods around, we wouldn't be surprised to see this mod get rejected by Valve's standards. It's also worth noting that the mod is not 100% in-line with DOTA's workshop rules and policies, so that's another strike against it. All things considered, if players want to try out the Vader mod we recommend they get to it sooner rather than later.

What do you think of the Darth Vader mod? Will you be installing it, while you still can? Let us know in the comments.
