The company behind the Nintendo Switch ports of DOOM and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus are currently working on a new "major" port, according to an interview with Variety.

As Panic Button Games, the studio has had a hand in porting several games to different platforms, with most of its recent work being with the Nintendo Switch. In the interview, the developer spoke at length about its work on Wolfenstein 2's upcoming release on the Switch, and how the Switch could soon become a console that more third-party titles launch on.

It was, however, confirmed that Panic Button Games is working on a major port right now – most likely for the Switch. Interviewee Adam Creighton (Director of Development at Panic Button Games) mentioned that the port would be announced some time next month.

The mention of the announcement should raise flags for Switch fans looking for a new title to arrive on the platform. There's no shortage of games that Panic Button could be working to port over, but right now it's anybody's guess.

One solid guess is that Panic Button Games could be working on a port for Prey. The game was critically acclaimed and generally considered a success by most. Considering the two game streak that Panic Button has going with Bethesda after its work on Wolfenstein 2 and DOOM, it's reasonable to think Bethesda's latest sci-fi horror game could land on the Switch some time soon.

Recently receiving both a free update and a new DLC off the tail of Bethesda's E3 showing, Prey is still very much relevant to Bethesda, and a Switch port could prove to be successful. Horror games are in somewhat short supply on the Switch right now compared to other platforms, so it would certainly be a welcome addition in many libraries.

Still, while Prey is a likely candidate considering Panic Button's very recent history, it's by no means a done deal. The developer has done work for several companies, and could be porting just about anything. An announcement should clear up any questions by next month.

DOOM is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch launch set for June 29, 2018.
