Video Games have produced a large amount of unique and interesting heroes for gamer's to adventure and play as. One of the oldest and most iconic is the Doom Slayer, who has been a staple since the first Doom installment in 1993. Doom Slayer has quite literally been through Hell and back, but how does he fare against other heroes?

While the Demon's of Hell have proven to be no match for Doom Slayer there are heroes that could very easily give this relentless hunter a run for his money, and others that would annihilate him in a few seconds.

Link may be the timeless Hero of Hyrule, however if he went up against Doom Slayer, the results would be less than heroic. While Link is the perfect match for Ganon and all his other forms, Doom Slayer would simply present too much of a challenge for this Hylian.

The main issue for Link would be his lack of speed, while Link is powerful, his fighting style is more meticulous and calculated, and there is little time for thinking when fighting the Doom Slayer.

9 Lose To: Raiden

Raiden in Metal Gear

This mechanical menace would make quick work of Doom Slayer. The amount of pure speed and stealth would be something Doom Slayer is absolutely not familiar with, considering all of his fights have been against Demons. Raiden may be more machine than man at this point, but one thing he is certainly isn't, is a loser.

8 Defeat: Ezio Auditore Da Firenze

Ezio posing with hidden blades

Considered the greatest and most skilled Assassin in the order's long history, Ezio may seem to actually be quite the match for the Doom Slayer. Yet this assumption would be a bit too optimistic. Ezio may be one of the most skilled Assassin's in history, but the reality is that he is still a completely mortal man.

Unless Ezio were to find an opportunity to assassinate Doom Slayer, where he is not hunting demons or in his armor (unlikely), he would have to fight him outright. The Hell hunters superhuman abilities would make quick work of this Italian renaissance man .

7 Lose To: Master Chief

Master Chief dual wielding

This is one of the most debated theoretical match-ups in video game history. The contention probably comes from the incredible similarity in the abilities, talents, weapons, and even enemies these two gaming legends have. Of all the lineups here, this one would be the closest, and the reality is, that it could be anyone's race.

Nonetheless, Master Chief has the slight advantage here. The genetic modifications performed on him during the SPARTAN-II creation have made him a super soldier that has an edge on Doom Slayer. This also goes without mentioning the more diverse and capable arsenal available to the Chief (BFG not withstanding).

6 Defeat: Aloy

Headshot of Aloy Horizon Zero Dawn

Resilient, caring, intelligent, and powerful. Aloy has what every strong female lead in gaming needs, however she is not strong enough to defeat Doom Slayer.

Aloy may be persistent, but Doom Slayer is absolutely ruthless. His speed and pure aggression would make fleeing any encounter or fight with Doom Slayer the best choice for Aloy.

5  Lose To: Bayonetta

Bayonetta, sitting, speaking

Not only does Bayonetta have the speed, the guns, and the skill, she has the magic. This extremely powerful umbra witch would make quick work of Doom Slayer.

Equally, if not more skilled, in every area that Doom Slayer is, the fight would not be a close one. The only thing the demon hunter has on Bayonetta is size, and he has fought much larger opponents. And finally, while Doom Slayer hunts demons, Bayonetta hunts angels.

4 Defeat: Geralt of Rivia

This Witcher has fought against his fair share of imposing and seemingly unbeatable opponents, though if he were to ever face Doom Slayer, he would finally meet his match.

In his adventures, Geralt has seen and fought it all, magic, swords, maces, talons, claws, even defeating his own fair share of demons. The one thing Geralt has not seen though, is guns, and Doom Slayer has a-lot of guns. While Geralt has a number of tricks up his sleeve, there is no potion or sign in existence that will make him bullet proof. Toss a coin to your witcher, he'll need it for medical expenses.

3 Lose To: Batman

Batman uses his cape

The Dark Knight is a household name, and for good reason. Despite being a regular mortal with no innate superhuman abilities Batman is able to take on virtually any foe (even besting Superman once).

Batman through intense training, high intellect, and of-course, his gadgets, would have no problem handling Doom Slayer. In fact Doom Slayer could even be considered child's play when compared to some of Arkham's more dangerous villains.

2 Defeat: 2B

2B from NieR Automata

2B is one of the most unique, interesting, and fun to play protagonists in recent memory. This feisty android can save the world, or completely destroy it (depending on what ending the player gets).

Nevertheless, 2B would not stand a chance facing Doom Slayer, she may be quick, and have a range of mods at her disposal, but even this is not enough to match the sheer brute force and rage that is Doom Slayer.

1 Lose To: Dante

devil may cry 5 special edition dante promo

Doom Slayer may be the bane of demons in his universe, but Dante is one half Demon he would not want to mess with. In spite of his demon heritage, Dante also acts as a demon hunter himself, one arguably more accomplished than even Doom Slayer.

In terms of speed, power, and of-course super human abilities, Dante has the Demon Slayer bested in every department. Lore wise, it would be an interesting encounter, but the fight would be so quick, it wouldn't even be worth watching.
