With the release of The Ancient Gods - Part 1 now firmly in the rearview mirror, Doom fans were excited to see a new teaser on Monday that confirmed the follow-up to the Doom Eternal DLC, The Ancient Gods - Part 2, was on its way. The short clip offered a brief look at the upcoming add-on, confirming that it would focus on the Doom Slayer's climactic battle with the Dark Lord and that a full trailer would be on its way.

That full trailer has just dropped, providing players with an action-packed look at the upcoming Doom campaign and a surprising release date announcement. Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods - Part 2 will officially launch tomorrow, March 18, bringing with it plenty of demon-slaying combat and a conclusion to the Doom Eternal storyline.

The footage itself looks to be an evolution of the teaser shown the other day, focusing mainly on the clash between the Doom Slayer and his evil doppelganger, the Dark Lord. The pair will seemingly come to blows through an epic battle that pits the armies of hell against the Night Sentinel forces, with the trailer confirming the DLC will heavily feature the Betrayer, who made his debut during Eternal's campaign. It appears this large-scale confrontation won't be the only setting for The Ancient Gods - Part 2. The promo teases several other locations, including a setpiece where the Doom Slayer ventures to Sentinel Prime to acquire the "Hell Breaker," which is a large laser hammer that acts similarly to the protagonist's Crucible weapon.

The rest of the footage confirms that the add-on will deliver plenty of action, with the Doom Slayer beheading demons, blowing apart new enemy types, and even flying on the back of a dragon. It culminates with a teaser for what's assumedly going to be the DLC's dramatic final encounter, as the Doom Slayer stares down the Dark Lord and braces himself for battle. According to the trailer, the player's "war against Hell ends here," and it seems Doom Eternal is set on going out with a bang.

Players can get their hands on the DLC tomorrow, with the choice of buying either a standard version or a digital deluxe edition, which features the Demonic Slayer skin and a pack of classic weapon sounds. Luckily for Xbox players wanting to get stuck into more Doom after they've conquered The Ancient Gods - Part 2, a ton of Bethesda's biggest games made the jump to Game Pass recently, with Doom Eternal, Doom, Doom 64, Doom 2, and Doom 3 now all available on the service.

Doom Eternal is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions in development.
