Twitch ended up suspending Donald Trump's Twitch account back on June 29 because it featured Trump making comments that were considered hateful under Twitch's Service and Community Guidelines. Trump uses the account to stream his addresses and campaign rallies and ended up airing two that committed back-to-back infractions.

Now, after two weeks, Twitch has gone ahead and lifted the suspension, allowing Donald Trump to go back to streaming as usual. When Twitch had suspended Trump, it didn't indicate how long the time-out would be, which has reinforced user criticism that the streaming service needs to do better with transparency, as Dr. Disrespect's Twitch ban can attest too.

The Twitter account StreamBans — which reports when Twitch suspends and unsuspends an account — was the first to post a notification that the suspension on Trump's account was lifted. A bot runs the account, and according to it, the suspension lasted for two weeks, four minutes, and 38 seconds. Gaming Insider Rod Breslau then followed up on this news shortly afterward.

The comments Donald Trump made to get suspended from Twitch came from two different rallies. The first was from Trump's 2015 campaign kickoff, where he made hateful comments towards immigrants coming in from South America, Central America, and Mexico. The second was during a recent rally in Tusla, where Trump said some questionable things about Americans wanting to defund the police.

When Twitch carried the suspension, it released a statement saying that politicians, "like anyone else," must adhere to the streaming service's rules. It went on to say that punishments for breaking these rules will be enforced no matter the circumstances. This means all politicians, including Bernie Sanders, Joe Bidden, and Kanye West — should he carry out his bid to run for President of the United States — will also be subjected to punishment if they violate the rules.

With this in mind, it's hard to imagine that Twitch won't end up suspending Donald Trump's account again. A lot of his rallies and addresses feature him saying controversial things that are sure to set off red flags in Twitch's policies. Trump's way with words has already gotten his ads removed from Facebook, his subreddit terminated, and his Twitter account censored.

On the other hand, Twitch only recently started cracking down hard on accounts, now that several streamers have had sexual assault allegations leveled at them. If Twitch sticks to its current practices, Trump's account may end up right back in limbo or outright banned.
