Actor, musician, and comedian Donald Glover has recently shared an update for fans on the upcoming Star Wars: Lando series. The Disney Plus show is set to focus on titular character Lando Calrissian, whose own even series was first announced in late 2020, alongside similar Star Wars spin-offs such as Andor and The Acolyte.

Other than the news of its impending arrival, not much has been revealed with regard to the Star Wars show’s plot. Dear White People creator Justin Simien has been chosen to develop Star Wars: Lando, but since much of the show still remains a mystery, fans have reverted to looking back to Lando's previous appearances in the series in order to decipher what his possible journey ahead could hold for him.

Lando as a character has already transformed so much throughout the franchise. From Lando becoming the Baron Administrator of Bespin’s Cloud City to even tracking down the infamous assassin Ochi with Luke Skywalker, there is still so much potential growth left to uncover. Although the show’s details are still quite up in the air, Glover has now come forward to hint at some upcoming developments for the series. While promoting the third season of his show, Atlanta on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Glover was directly asked about the famous Lando project. Instead of straight-up deflecting the question, Glover teased, “Am I? No, yeah, you know, I have a lot of things. I like to blossom and then go away. Right now, it’s definitely the start of another one of those. I have a ton of stuff I’ve been working on, but I just wanted it all to come out at the same time. I feel like that’s what’s important to me.”

Fans have theorized that perhaps Lando's diary titled the Calrissian Chronicles, which he’s seen creating in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, will hint at what the character has been up to all this time in between. It even remains unknown whether Glover will be portraying the role of young Lando, or if actor Billy Dee Williams will be playing an older Lando. Since Williams did end up reprising his role in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, it may be more likely that he will be taking over the role versus Glover.

Although Glover's answer still completely avoids providing any real details regarding Lando, he didn’t at all dodge the question entirely. This should give fans some glimmer of hope that he may be possibly stepping into the role of Lando instead of the assumed Williams.

The Star Wars saga is now available on Disney Plus.
