Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness landed on Disney Plus in June, and despite having to share the streaming spotlight, Marvel fans have been quick to find details that can easily go unseen in movie theaters, including a rare slip concerning the Avengers Tower.

Prior to Top Gun: Maverick clearing the one billion dollar mark in box office earnings, the Doctor Strange sequel had been this year's most commercially successful blockbuster, a milestone Thor: Love and Thunder will be looking to break as well. Doctor Strange 2 went up on Disney Plus on June 22, the same day as the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale and Ms. Marvel's third episode. Yet, only few days later after that, new easter eggs and curiosities have begun to pop up on the internet.

Ironically, one of these Doctor Strange 2 easter eggs happens to be of a pretty big scale. MCU Direct noticed during at least one shot of the movie’s opening sequence, Sam Raimi's brilliant New York City features the very real Metlife Building, which is located where the Avengers Tower would normally be in Earth-616. Ironically, Tony Stark's former headquarters has long been the subject of speculation among Marvel fans ever since Iron Man himself sold the building to yet-to-be-revealed parties, which could turn out to be a key character in Phase Four or later.

Although the former Stark Tower has shown up in later Marvel Studios films, such as Spider-Man: Homecoming, and is still referred to as Avengers Tower in the MCU, it’s a mystery what kind of plans Kevin Feige and company have for the iconic skyscraper. That said, some have speculated it could be the Fantastic Four's base of operations in a not too distant future. A version of the Avengers Tower bearing the Qeng corporation’s logo was also seen in Loki's Void dimension, which makes it all the more puzzling as to how these details could have slipped past Marvel Studios' immensely talented VFX specialists.

Bear in mind, Marvel Studios has been known to alter or add a few touches here and there to newer versions of MCU movies uploaded to Disney Plus, so any fans wanting to see this error with their own eyes might have to hurry since it could be fixed at any given time. While Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home may be very close in the timeline, neither film is above having a few unexplained plot holes or inconsistencies, regardless of how easy it is to forgive said error for the sheer entertainment value both films bring to the table.
