As of right now, there are two planned DLC characters for the Marvel’s Avengers game. Spider-Man will be exclusive to PS4 users and Hawkeye content will come to everyone. It’s also known Kate Bishop will also be playable with that update and will have a story content.

Who’s next? There are some leaks from the beta that data miners have discovered like Dr. Strange and She-Hulk. These could mean many things and not necessarily indicating they will be playable. Ignoring everything from the leaks, this list will go through other characters wanted along with going through some popular heroes that wouldn’t make as much sense for this game.

10 Want: Wolverine

Wolverine from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Wolverine is at the top of the Mutant list. Inhumans are great and all but they pale in comparison to the more memorable cast of the X-Men.

Time is also a factor as they came first and this have had more time to bask in the nerd sunlight. This is all to say fans are hungry for not just Wolverine but many more Mutants after that.

9 Don’t Want: Deadpool

Deadpool from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

A Mutant that should stay away from the Marvel’s Avengers game is Deadpool. He’s a fun character in the comics and from the films.

He’s even had some decent moments in video games. Putting him in this universe would not make as much sense at the moment though.

8 Want: Psylocke

Psylocke from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

To add another Mutant to the list, and a female counterpart to Wolverine, Psylocke would be a good pick. She’s like a ninja with energy blades. So far, no one in the Marvel’s Avengers game fights with bladed weapons. Black Widow is the closest match with her batons and skill set.

Still, Psylocke has a diverse amount of moves to help make her not feel like a copycat character in the roster. A team up involving her and Black Widow on some sort of Metal Gear like mission would be pretty great as an introduction. Maybe this could happen in that 5 year time skip.

7 Don’t Want: Storm

Storm from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Storm is a great female Mutant. One of the best in fact. However, since her skill set can be likened to Thor, it might feel too similar.

Her wind storms can help make her standout from his lightning strikes, but if a female mutant gets the chance to join in the fun on the Marvel’s Avengers game, it should be Psylocke.

6 Want: Rocket Raccoon

Rocket Raccoon With the X-Men brandishing weapons from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

At this point Captain Marvel seems like a shoe-in for a DLC add-on. She was one of the characters data miners uncovered from the beta leak of the Marvel’s Avengers game. It would be cool to have her story take place in space with her own agenda.

She could even be joined by other spacefaring Marvel heroes like Rocket Raccoon. He’s another gun character, but he too would probably be more distinct than Black Widow. He's a raccoon though with guns. What isn't there to love about that?

5 Don’t Want: Star-Lord

Star-Lord from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Go with Rocket Raccoon and not Star-Lord. Putting in the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy may make the most sense, but Star-Lord isn’t that distinct of a hero.

He can fly, with tech, and shoot guns. He’s basically Iron Man as hell too is a human, mostly. They could get into his celestial powers which would make him more diverse, but if the two, hopefully he isn’t picked.

4 Want: Crystal

Crystal from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Storm is essentially a mage that specializes in weather related powers. Another great mage on the opposite spectrum, i.e. the Inhumans side, is Crystal. She actually descends from royalty from the real Inhuman line.

Many may not be familiar with her, but those that played Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 know just how strong she can be. She too could connect to Captain Marvel’s quest. From fire to ice, Crystal wields it all.

3 Don’t Want: Lockjaw

Lockjaw from the Marvel comics

A fellow space Inhuman is the giant dog, Lockjaw. Like Deadpool, he would create a too whacky experience. The Marvel’s Avengers game doesn’t have to stay serious.

It’s a video game. It should be crazy and fun no matter the context. That said, playing as a magic dog just doesn’t sound appealing for most.

2 Want: Sub-Mariner

Sub-Mariner from the Marvel comics

Captain Marvel has space covered but what about the water? Numerous hints are dropped that something is up with the plates beneath the waves in the game.

The Marvel’s Avengers game could be setting things up for a Sub-Mariner plot just like the movies did in Avengers: Endgame. That’s the theory at least. Give this Marvel Aquaman a chance.

1 Don’t Want: Miles Morales

Miles Morales from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Miles is a great version of Spider-Man and thanks to his electricity and invisible powers, he stands out from Peter. Filling the game with more than one spider themed hero may be too much of a good thing though.

After all, Insomniac is developing a launch PS5 game starring him. He should be allowed to shine on his own.
