Due to the fact that Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is a live service, there are bound to be some issues that occur in the way of bugs, glitches, and errors which the development team at Massive Entertainment will have to address throughout the course of the game's post-launch lifespan. As it so happens, the studio was recently forced to disable in-game daily and weekly projects in the third-person shooter due to an exploit having cropped up.

Just yesterday, The Division 2's servers went down for an emergency maintenance period which was aimed at fixing an exploit that allowed players to repeatedly turn in projects, letting them claim rewards multiple times. Unfortunately, Massive Entertainment was not able to rectify the bug, so it decided to The Division 2 development team deactivated the daily and weekly projects for the time being until it can apply a fix to the issue.

As of writing, it doesn't look as though Massive Entertainment has managed to fix the exploit, as the studio has not shared an update on the matter since it briefly took The Division 2's servers down last night and put them back online shortly thereafter. With this being the case, players will have to find other means and methods to grind for loot within the recently released third-person shooter until the exploit is remedied.

For the uninitiated, The Division 2’s projects system provides would-be Agents with a decent way to obtain gear in the game, particularly for those players who mainly engage with the title's PvP aspects. Projects can be likened to quests that rotate on a daily or weekly basis and offer up various rewards for tasks like resupplying settlements, fighting off enemies, and the like.

As it turns out, the projects exploit hasn't been the only issue to have appeared in the game since the shooter launched last month, with some players having recently reported a weapon damage bug in The Division 2 not too long ago. Hopefully, Massive Entertainment will be able to successfully tackle these problems and other reported bugs sooner rather than later.

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
