Many may recall the meme that arose from Division 2's pre-release Gamescom 2018 trailer's police "POLCE" car. It was a trick of the angle, as the door was actually open, but the internet ran with it. It quickly became a meme, with Division 2's creative director, Julian Gerighty, later promising to add it to the looter shooter. Now, a year later, one player has found the POLCE car.

However, the search for this vehicle didn't begin until the aforementioned director sent out a tweet, on August 21, reminding players of its existence and promising to reward whoever finds it with "swag." It wasn't added to Division 2 until sometime after Gerighty announced it would be in March, meaning it has been publicly left undiscovered for some time. The first Division 2 player to have found it is reportedly a Berlin-based gamer named Patrik, whose online tag is SteelRampage77.

It took SteelRampage77 approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes to find the vehicle, according to gaming publication Kotaku, as he took a systemic approach to find it. He began in the upper right corner of the Division 2 map, moving block to block looking left and right on each street to find the car. Sadly, the vehicle is in the lower-left portion of the map.

SteelRampage77 reportedly has over 940 hours in The Division 2 and knew he had seen the vehicle before. Of course, at the time, there was no reward on the line, and he never publicly revealed its existence.  His determination to find it again likely helped him complete the challenge, yet it was clearly no bed of roses. While he was working on this challenge, he was a member of a 3-player squad, and one of SteelRampage 77's teammates took a photo right after he discovered it, likely trying to claim the challenge for themselves.

Regardless, SteelRampage77's claim is the first on Twitter, so he'll likely be getting that promised swag in the coming days. Finding this hidden Easter egg may even, shortly, allow players to bide time until the next Tom Clancy game, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and its various pre-order bonuses and editions come out.

The Division 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
