In games where loot drops are integral for progression, players will do just about whatever they can to get gear and items as fast as possible. This can be done by grinding, or killing bosses and whatnot, but it can also be done by exploiting certain game mechanics to farm locations repeatedly for lots of drops. These spots have come to be called loot caves, named after the original Destiny farming cave, where enemies spawned endlessly, dropping tons of loot in the process. Recently, it appears that The Division 2 now has its own loot cave, and players have created exact methods for farming the crap out of it.

The information comes from a video by WiLLiSgaming, who lays out all of the details along with demonstrations. But the gist is that players will need to gather a team of four with LMG builds and flame turrets. Then they need to boot up the mission Bank Headquarters on either challenging or hard and go through as usual until they reach one of the last rooms.

There, Isaac will tell players to push a button on a laptop. Have the team wait by the spawn point, which is through an entryway with "STORAGE" graffitied above it. Hit the button and head back to the team. Use the flame turrets to keep enemies from running out of the room and just keep unloading on anything that spawns.

Using this trick, a ton of loot and XP can be gained in The Division 2 at a ridiculous pace. When the timer for the mission runs out, simply kill yourself with a concussion grenade and respawn at the checkpoint. This will put players back at the laptop. Now simply follow the previous steps as many times as you please. Is this method considered cheating? Not really. It certainly doesn't do much for the spirit of the game. But it's hard to argue the rights and wrongs of this strategy when surrounded by all of that sweet loot. It should be noted that loot caves have short lifespans, as developers quickly take action to prevent farming methods like this. Anyone who plans on checking it out should do it soon.

Speaking of loot, now that Operation Dark Hours is live, players can get their hands on a new Exotic-rarity weapon. To earn the Eagle Bearer Assault Rifle, players will need a bit of persistence and luck. The best strategy is to run the new Operation Dark Hours raid every week, where there is a chance to gain the weapon from a boss drop or locked chests. No other special methods are available, unfortunately, which may come as a disappointment to some.

For those on console having difficulty navigating this new raid, it seems they will just have to persevere. According to developer Massive Entertainment, there are no plans to lower raid difficulty for consoles at this time.

The Division 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
