Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is live for early access owners and players are currently digging through the game’s story missions and main content. However, most die-hard Division 2 players have their sights set on the endgame, which doesn’t begin until they hit level 30.

Because endgame content doesn’t unlock in The Division 2 until level 30, players will want to level up as quickly as possible. Here are a few tips for how to level up fast.

Solo Play Can Be Best

While playing in a group should get Division 2 players through the missions faster, they will do so at the expense of some XP. Since XP is awarded only for those enemies that the player damages, there will certainly be some enemies that are defeated without awarding the player XP. However, if players go into each mission solo, every possible XP will go their way.

On the flip side, players can run through missions faster as a squad and missions generally reward more XP for their completion. Still, getting the full mission XP and all of the XP for defeating enemies is a higher yield.

Buy XP Perks ASAP

Another very important tip is to use the XP-focused perks in Division 2’s new perk system. While making their way through occupied Washington DC, Division 2 players will earn SHD tech, which can be taken to the Quartermaster in the White House and spent on perks. There is a category of perks that focuses on increasing XP gains.

As soon as possible, players want to buy the perks:

  • Headshot Accolade - Headshot kills award an XP bonus
  • Multi-kill Accolade - Killing multiple enemies at the same time awards an XP bonus
  • Weakpoints Accolade - Kills triggered by destroying weakpoints award an XP bonus
  • Tactical Kill Accolade - Kills triggered by activating environmental objects award an XP bonus
  • Survivor - Not dying for a long amount of time, solo or in a group, will award increasing XP bonuses

These perks will ensure that Division 2 players maximize their XP gains throughout the campaign and while completing side missions. It’s also important to pay attention to each perk’s description, though, and focus on those tasks. Getting headshots is likely the best route but also keep a look out for environmental hazards like gas tanks. And it goes without saying, try not to die.

Complete Campaign Missions When Available

From there, players should focus on missions, as they reward quality XP. World events like Control Point or Executions are okay for XP, but missions are always going to be one of the best sources.

Once players have hit level 30, then the endgame of Division 2 unlocks. The Black Tusk faction will invade, a new World Tier system will activate, an Occupied version of the Dark Zone will appear, and more. This is likely what most Division 2 players are looking for when investing in the loot-based shooter, and leveling quickly is key.

The Division 2 is available for early access now and officially releases March 15, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
