Karen Stanley, a level artist for the Tom Clancy game, took plays through the rubber ducks' origin story. Stanley told viewers that many programs in the industry talk to rubber ducks that sit at their work stations, as hashing out the problem out loud helps the programmer figure out how to solve the issue in the software. One programmer for Division 2 took this a step further and added a huge rubber duck into one of the game's levels to remind himself that he needed to do a specific task in that level. Whatever the task was, the duck remained in the level for quite some time.

During that time, Stanley said that many of the other artists grew attached the the ginormous rubber duck, and as a result, they all began adding subtly adding them to the game in hard to reach places. As time went on, the Division 2 programmers got more into adding these Easter eggs, and they started setting the ducks up in such a way that these rubber bath toys were conveying different stories to those who found them. Many players on platforms like YouTube found these ducks intriguing and posted videos displaying them.

The secret behind the rubber duck Easter eggs was not the only information that Ubisoft revealed to fans. The game company also showed off new gameplay for Watch Dogs Legions, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Far Cry 6. With all these new games coming out, fans will have a lot of new ground to cover to find the new Easter eggs will be hiding.

The Division 2 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
