There is no official release date for the PS4 version of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, but that doesn't mean fans of the arcade fighter are any less excited. The game is due to arrive sometime in 2018 and Square Enix is getting ready to kick off a closed summer beta to start working out the bugs and balance issues. Interested parties have a chance to register now.

The closed beta for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will obviously be limited in scope, as closed betas usually are, so not everyone who registers will actually receive the invite to participate. If you are interested in getting some early hands-on time with this beta build of the game, we recommend registering now and praying to your favorite Final Fantasy god.

How to register:

The upcoming PS4 port is a console version of the 2015 arcade game from Japan. The full release will feature epic three-versus-three team-based battles with over 20 playable characters from the franchise's 30 year history. At this point, we're not sure how many of those fighters and features will be available during the closed beta.

For those who don't receive a beta invite, there are still lots of other ways to get your Final Fantasy fix during the year-long 30th anniversary celebration. Final Fantasy 14 recently launched an exciting new expansion, FF15 is still releasing new DLC content, and The Zodiac Age is now available for PS4. It's certainly a good time to be a fan of the franchise.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is scheduled for release sometime in 2018 exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
