Disneyland parks have long been known to go to great lengths to create and protect the magic of the attractions for their fans. Now, Disney Plus is giving fans a front-row seat to see just how some of that magic is made.

Behind the Attraction is a new, original docuseries for the popular streaming service that aims to give viewers a peek behind the curtain of some of the park's most popular rides and attractions. The show will be narrated by Paget Brewster of Criminal Minds fame and will be ten episodes long. Viewers will be treated to archival and never-before-seen interviews, pictures, and footage that will show how classic attractions came to be and how they have evolved through the years in tandem with technology. Fans of the parks and Imagineers, past and present, will be featured in the show's interviews, as well as other various behind-the-scenes workers.

The poster for the series hints that viewers will hear the behind-the-scenes stories of rides like Star Tours, It's A Small World, and fan-favorite The Haunted Mansion. Its first episode will take a detailed look at the creation of the beloved Jungle Cruise ride, just in time for the release of the live-action Jungle Cruise movie. In addition to learning about the rides, Behind the Attraction will also delve into the tales of how each park castle came to be, detail the complexities of the transportation systems in the parks, and reveal how the Disneyland Hotel was born.

Dwayne Johnson is credited as one of the show's producers and will be appearing in one episode, which is appropriate considering he will star alongside Emily Blunt in the Jungle Cruise filmBehind the Attraction was directed by Brian Volk-Weiss, who specializes in nostalgia television since his previous work includes The Toys That Made Us and The Movies That Made Us.

The show couldn't come at a better time for the Disney parks. Southern California's Disneyland has gone through drastic changes in the past year, canceling its popular Annual Pass program to the disappointment of locals. Finally, the park recently reopened after months of delays due to COVID-19 guidelines.

The highly anticipated Avengers Campus debuted just in time for the reopening of the park, with the Spider-Man ride as its first new attraction. Spider-Man himself Tom Holland even recorded scenes for the ride, and he gave fans a look at his role and involvement in the attraction.

Behind the Attraction will debut all ten episodes on Disney Plus on July 16.
