One thing that Disney Speedstorm players will notice very early on is that each of their racers has a level. Leveling up racers is not only important for increasing their stats but is also required for those that want to progress through circuits, the game's equivalent of a story mode. While leveling up racers is fairly simple at first, each new level requires more materials than the last, as well as some materials that are specific to Disney Speedstorm's represented franchises, so players may be wondering what the best way to level up racers fast is.
It should be noted that leveling up a racer is different from increasing their star rarity. The former is done with items such as racing flags and certain unique character level-up materials, while the latter requires players to find character shards. Increasing a racer's level in Disney Speedstorm only affects their stats, whereas increasing their star rarity can improve their skills and grant access to unique skills.
How to Level Up Racers in Disney Speedstorm
All racers in Disney Speedstorm require materials to level up. As soon as players have all of the requisite materials they may immediately increase the level of their racer and will see the stats increase as well. There are three main kinds of materials: Generic Materials, Class Materials, and Collection Materials.
- Generic Materials include things like Racing Flags, Wrenches, and Traffic Cones. These are required for every racer at every level.
- Class Materials include things like Turbo Booster (Speedster Class), Boost Tanks (Trickster Class), Enhanced Bumpers (Brawler Class), and Chassis Reinforcements (Defender Class). These are required from level 10 and beyond.
- Collection Materials are unique to each show/movie. For example, Mike, Sully, and Randall all need Scream Canisters to level up. These materials are required from level 4 onward, with even rarer versions required from levels 15 (Boo's Door for Mike) and 25 (Sock for Mike).
How to Farm Materials and Level Up Fast in Disney Speedstorm
Since racers don't need experience in order to level up, players simply need to farm materials if they want to level up quickly. There are several ways to obtain Level Up Material in Disney Speedstorm:
- Shop
- Circuit Rewards
- Events
- Golden Pass
- Mystery Boxes
The shop is definitely the easiest way to get upgrade materials, but players will need the right currency in order to afford it (certain Founder's Packs come with a lot of in-game currency). Circuit Rewards are a great way to get characters leveled up a bit, as each character has their own chapter that can reward players with upgrade materials for that character. Events are probably the best way to actually farm upgrade materials, but players will need to pay attention to what each event rewards. Finally, the Golden Pass and Mystery Boxes are two other ways players can get Upgrade Materials, but these aren't always as reliable as Circuits or Events.
