For fans of Disney, there's a pretty high chance that the classic 1973 Robin Hood film was viewed at least a few times while growing up. Luckily for those that have missed the anthropomorphic creature's appearance on the big screen, it appears that yet another Disney remake is in the works.

Disney is reportedly working on a CGI reboot of the movie, though it will keep the anthropomorphic aesthetic of the original film, in a similar vein to Lady and the Tramp, Aladdin, and The Lion Kingall of which received remakes recently.

Carlos Lopez Estrada is reportedly on board to direct the project, which is being penned by Kari Granlund, who also wrote the Lady and the Tramp reboot. The movie is being created for the Disney+ streaming service, which has also created popular series such as The Mandalorian.

The deal was apparently in the works before the spread of the coronavirus, though it's unlikely that any solid release date will be announced until the pandemic clears up. Reviews of other Disney movie remakes have been mixed thus far, with some feeling they've amounted to little more than money-grabbing rehashes. Of course, the films are also technical marvels to some degree, which does make the idea of this Robin Hood reboot particularly alluring.

The Robin Hood remake is reportedly in development.
