Without a doubt, the nostalgia and hype behind the remasters of Disney's Lion King and Aladdin are as real as it gets. Many recall these classic games from their youth, as each initially released alongside its respective movie, so it's good to see Disney's Lion King and Aladdin getting the remaster treatment. However, in the games' official announcement trailer, eagle-eyed fans noticed a peculiar spelling mistake.
As many know, this remaster includes the Genesis, Game Boy, and Super Nintendo versions for the Lion King, with Aladdin not getting the Super Nintendo version, but getting the other two nonetheless. This minute detail stood out to those who took part in the which-is-better debate for decades, but a spelling error for The Lion King was also noticed. On the Switch game case, Lion King is hilarious misspelled "Loin King."
Interestingly enough, this only occurs on the Switch's spine. The PS4 and Xbox One versions of The Lion King are perfectly fine, meaning that someone likely messed up while designing the Switch cover. It's possible there are other explanations, such as outdated assets, but either way, this mistake is worthy of a good chuckle. This is something that will likely be fixed before launch.
"The Loin King" would likely be an entirely different game from The Lion King, but that's not to say the remaster is identical to the original. Many will easily recall how difficult both of these Disney classic games were to beat, so both the Aladdin and The Lion King remasters have cheat codes designed to make them easier to play. Those who want to experience it as they did in their youth still can, though.
In all likelihood, Aladdin and The Lion King are likely to be well-received remasters, but there's still a ton of Disney games who need updated treatment. While remasters would be accepted, here's our list of 10 Disney classic games that need to a remake.
