Recently a Disney Dreamlight Valley player styled their player to look just like Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Disney Dreamlight Valley features character customization that players can use to shape their character’s physical features and clothing. Through this, many players have spent time creating avatars that match the look of various Disney properties.

The Little Mermaid is an animated film that was originally released in 1989. The movie follows a teenage mermaid princess named Ariel who dreams of becoming a human. Along this journey, she falls in love with a human prince and makes a magic deal with the eventual antagonist Ursula. There is set to be a live-action remake of The Little Mermaid next year.

This character creation comes from u/z0mbab3, and it is a match for those who remember the film. In this custom design in Disney Dreamlight Valley, they made sure to start the new look with the character’s memorable red hair color. From there, they matched the purple seashell bra she wears for a large part of the film but had to get especially creative when dealing with the rest of the mermaid portion of Ariel. To cover the character’s lower half, this Disney Dreamlight Valley player created a green dress to match Ariel’s tail and added a mixture of blue and white to make it appear as though she is bursting out of the water.

The main image that u/z0mbab3 seems to be aiming for with this character creation in Disney Dreamlight Valley is a moment that occurs just after Ariel encounters Prince Eric for the first time. As Ariel sings a reprise to "Part of Your World," she leans forward on a rock as a wave crashes just behind her. This scene is conveyed really well in this character creation even though the character is simply standing in water.

Character customization allows players of some games to create amazing tributes to their favorite franchises and people. This freedom does allow for odd creations that don’t fit in well with the game world, but while some may not like it, it can lead to memorable moments, especially in cutscenes.

Then again, these tributes help show how memorable certain characters have become and how games with defined characters can cement themselves with players. On top of this, there will likely be those who prefer not having to spend a great deal of time creating their in-game look. Either way, this player did a great job recreating Ariel in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
