A fan of Disney Dreamlight Valley is flexing their exterior design and culinary muscles by crafting their own restaurant. Aside from the multitude of quests to complete, Dreamlight to gather, and character relationships to foster, there are also many crafting and decorative opportunities players can sink their teeth into, which this fan has taken advantage of to great effect.

Crafting is one of the main activities Disney Dreamlight Valley players can partake in as they rebuild the world around them, though not the only one. Players must forage, mine, fish, dig, and harvest their farm all to provide necessary ingredients for cooking and materials for crafting. Crafting offers a multitude of buildable items that players can experiment with. From a trellis arch to household appliances to an outhouse, the choices are many.

Perhaps unsatisfied with the already-existing culinary options in Disney Dreamlight Valley, one Reddit user, FFprism, took it upon themselves to build their own charming outdoor restaurant. Christening the restaurant Mickey-Donald's, FFprism posted a screenshot to Reddit with a caption announcing the restaurant's grand opening. The player used a variety of both indoor and outdoor items that all worked together to bring their trendy outdoor café to life.

The image shows a cozy, fenced-in hangout with several spots for customers to eat, complete with ready-to-eat food and adorable light-up Micky centerpieces. The counter at the back with its neon burger sign fits perfectly with the fast food adorning the plates -- surely made from only the finest ingredients in Disney Dreamlight Valley -- while the cobblestone flooring adds some class. FFprism has built a walking path right up to the entrance where patrons are greeted by the wrought iron arc hung with violet banners and emblazoned with Mickey's emblem. And nestled right next to Merlin's arcane tower, the aptly-named Mickey-Donald's offers patrons fine dining with a view.

Work like this is exactly what makes crafting games shine. The crafting in Disney Dreamlight Valley allows room for creativity, helping a vision come to life. It's offering a kind of player engagement the result of which is that something bigger than itself is created, shared, and enjoyed, outside the play experience. If anything, Disney Dreamlight Valley should go farther with its crafting. Since it's a Disney game, holding all its properties' licenses, it offers a specific fantasy that provides players with a unique creative outlet they can't find anywhere else.

But as it stands now, it's still early days for Disney Dreamlight Valley, and at this point, the options are certainly not as robust as something like Animal Crossing: New Horizons' crafting. But this is a very good start and something that will be exciting to keep an eye on.
