Developer Gameloft Montreal shares a new teaser for The Lion King content coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley this April. The trailer includes a look at the new locations and characters coming when Disney Dreamlight Valley’s new Realm Update launches in about two months.

A life sim adventure game reminiscent of Nintendo’s Animal Crossing, Disney Dreamlight Valley launched in early access on September 6, 2022. The game sees players transported to the titular Dreamlight Valley, a magical land inhabited by Disney and Pixar characters. Players can explore, decorate their in-game house, and befriend Disney characters while staving off the encroachment of magical plants called the Night Thorns. The game currently features 20 characters from multiple Disney franchises, with developers adding new characters via regular updates.

Two of these upcoming characters include Simba and Nala from Disney’s The Lion King, according to a new trailer featured during the Nintendo Direct livestream on Wednesday. While short, the trailer offers a sneak peek of the game’s next Realm Update coming in April. Players will explore a new biome while interacting with two more of Disney’s most popular characters. The trailer also brings the total number of confirmed The Lion King characters up to five, with Scar arriving in Disney Dreamlight Vally early on and Timone and Pumba featured in the game’s original trailer.

The recent preview is only 23 seconds long, with the new content beginning about seven seconds in. The trailer shows Simba and Nala greeting a player character as he arrives in the new zone for the first time and sharing in a bug barbecue. However, all is not well in the Pride Lands, with Nala and the player facing down a group of shadowy figures with glowing eyes. Still, there is plenty of time to take selfies with Nala and Simba at the water hole and invite them back to the village proper.

The trailer doesn’t give an exact release date for the new content, but at least players still have Disney Dreamlight Valley’s February update to look forward to between now and then. Unfortunately, there is also no sign of Timone and Pumba in the recent teaser. While all four characters may be on their way soon, it could be a while before Timone and Pumba arrive in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Regardless, the new teaser saw a positive reception from Disney and Dreamlight Valley fans. One YouTube commenter brought up how cute the two lions were together, and another noted that they’re excited to see any character interactions between Nala and Simba and Scar. Others were hopeful that more Lion King characters were on their way, with the rest expressing excitement for Nala and Simba’s inclusion in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
