There are various ways to get Star Coins in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and most of them are time-consuming. Farming Star Coins is crucial, as many quests require them from time to time. Also, sometimes characters request items that require Star Coins to progress in their story.
Updated on October 30, 2022, by Nahda Nabiilah: Star Coin is one of the most important currencies in Disney Dreamlight Valley. It helps players buy necessary ingredients from Goofy’s Stall or materials from Kristoff’s Stall in Disney Dreamlight Valley. In addition, Scrooge McDuck’s store is full of beautiful furniture and eye-catching clothing that’ll be a nice addition to players' homes and inventory. Gaining Star Coins is considered an easy task in Disney Dreamlight Valley, albeit a bit time-consuming. Luckily, there are a couple of methods players can use to earn Star Coins easier.
How To Get Star Coins Fast In Disney Dreamlight Valley
In Disney Dreamlight Valley, there are several techniques to collect Star Coins, but it can be a bit tedious. There are two methods that are particularly quick; selling pumpkins or mining rocks.
Selling Pumpkins
By selling pumpkins at any Goofy’s Stall, players can earn thousands of Star Coins in a single day. Sadly, pumpkins are only available at Forgotten Lands in Disney Dreamlight Valley, so players have to save up a decent amount of Dreamlight to access this biome. Although one Pumpkin Seed costs 275 Star Coins, the pumpkin itself is sold for 664. It is considered expensive, but one has to spend money to make money.
As a start, collect a decent amount of Star Coins (10,000 to 15,000) then head to Goofy’s Stall and buy Pumpkin Seed with all of them. Next, plant them and wait for the crops to grow. Pumpkins take about four hours to grow in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and they should be watered once after two hours. Once all crops are ready, harvest the pumpkins then sell all of them and enjoy the Star Coins.
Obviously, players will start off slow by earning 30,000 to 45,000 Star Coins. But later on, once they start selling 200 pumpkins, a whopping 138,700+ is rewarded. Keep in mind that the pumpkins don’t always give the same numbers, many factors play a huge role in the quantity of the harvested vegetable.
Hanging out with the right character will double up the amount every time. For example, harvesting 200 pumpkins with a Companion in Disney Dreamlight Valley will result in 400 pumpkins.
Sometimes while harvesting, one crop will start to shine gold. This means that the crop can be picked up more than once during a short period of time. Depending on players’ speed, an extra 13 to 15 crops can be gathered.
Every once in a while, one crop can release multiple pumpkins that shine red once harvested. Quickly collect all of them before they disappear.
Mining Rocks
The fastest way to get Star Coins is by mining the rock piles using the Pickaxe in Disney Dreamlight Valley to collect the gems, and then selling them at any Goofy's Stall. For example, mining three biomes for 10 minutes should yield around 8k Star Coins.
In each biome, there are multiple rock piles scattered around the area. Furthermore, every biome has its own types of gems and each gem has a shiny version of it that is worth more. There are currently 18 types:

The more biomes players unlock, the more rock piles will become available.
There are two types of rock piles in Disney Dreamlight Valley. One has gems sticking out of it and the other appears normal. The former will definitely drop gems while the latter depends on players' luck. Hanging out with a friend that has a mining bonus will increase the player's chances of rock piles dropping gems.
Other than the usual gem loot, rock piles will sometimes drop multiple Star Coins. Collecting all the coins immediately will reward players with a chest that has even more Star Coins. There are also some rare cases where the rock pile drops more than five gems at once. Players just need to make sure to mine rocks with a companion that has a mining role to increase the chances of this happening.
There are other methods for collecting Star Coins like selling harvested crops, fish, materials, and other ingredients in Disney Dreamlight Valley at Goofy’s Stall. However, at the time of writing, using gems proves to be faster than all the other methods.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
