Disney Dreamlight Valley has arrived in the form of early access. Players can get an early look at the game set to release fully in 2023 by purchasing one of the founder's packs. These three packs all come with various cosmetics and bonuses as well as providing access to the current build of Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Players who have Xbox Game Pass can download the game and receive a free founders package alongside early access to play. Disney Dreamlight Valley will be free for all when the full launch date arrives and nothing better than being prepared to drop right in when the time comes.
7 Talk To Merlin
Merlin the wizard is a great port of call when players are unsure of where to go or what to do next. He is more than helpful and isn’t just about helping boys named Arthur retrieve medieval weaponry from rocks.
Speaking to Merlin is as simple as locating the wizard and pressing the talk button prompt displayed on the screen. Once a conversation has been initiated there are several options available to choose from to help out. Merlin will tell players what to do next or even give some helpful advice, which can help out when what to do next in Dreamlight Valley isn’t obvious.
6 Spend Time Cleaning Up
In Dreamlight Valley, the story tells players that the world has been infected by The Forgotten, which appears as evil-looking thorns and vines across the land. The Forgotten has made everyone in Dreamlight Valley forget who they are and what they were doing.
Whenever there are pieces of The Forgotten, be sure to remove them to clear the area. The other great thing about clearing up these nasty evil vines is they usually hide items and rewards that can come in very handy. Removing the vines is done by simply pressing the button underneath the remove prompt. Once cleared, an item or even a coin may appear to be collected.
5 Give Gifts
The first NPC players will encounter in Dreamlight Valley is the wise old wizard Merlin. Now Merlin will act as a guide to some beginning sections of the game as well as explain what has happened in the kingdom.
After players receive their first few quests from the wizard, they should seek him out and talk to him. To find Merlin if he is not visible on screen, pull up the map to see his location. Once he is found, speak to him and give him a gift as this will increase the player's level, max energy and also provide a reward. Other NPCs throughout the kingdom can also receive gifts and provide their benefits for kind players, so be generous and reap the rewards.
4 Use The Map
It may be an obvious statement to use a map when lost, however, in Dreamlight Valley looks can be deceiving. Some areas can be more complex than they first appear once players venture through them. Simple-looking paths or walkways can end up leading to maze-like areas, especially in the beginning stages when The Forgotten vines and thorns are everywhere.
This is where the map comes into play, learning to use this handy tool early on can be a huge boost to players learning the lay of the land. Located in the main menu, the map not only shows an overview of the area but has some great features. Once on the map players can see character locations, crops, and even buildings. Further to its magical kingdom-based GPS tracking system players can also use the map to fast travel to available locations, making the map one of the most crucial elements in the entire game.
3 Track Quests
Throughout the player's time in Disney Dreamlight Valley, one of the most frequent things that will have to be completed is quests. These can vary from minuscule tasks such as collecting five apples or could be an elaborate rescue mission to free a new character who has fallen victim to The Forgotten.
Either way, quests are going to come fast and frequently, to the point of confusion. There is an easy way to deal with this however and that is by tracking them individually. Once tracked the quest will be pinned on the main screen for players to view at all times and if the quest has multiple stages to complete then the progress towards completion will be shown too. Very handy to learn early on as it keeps all quests tidy and prioritized by preference.
2 Don't Get Tired
Rest is part of any healthy lifestyle, and players will not want to avoid this in Dreamlight Valley or the real world. In the game, performing too many actions will drain energy and players will be left unable to do any of the activities available around the kingdom.
If a massive clean-up session of The Forgotten vines and thorns or a harvest of gems from rocks has left the player's in-game avatar tired, there are a few ways to regain energy to get back to the task at hand. Eating food or staying inside the main house will restore energy and is often the only option available. However, having a full meal to get stuck into is the best way to restore that energy to get back to the tasks ahead.
1 Complete Dreamlight Quests
Alongside the quests players will receive from NPCs in Dreamlight Valley, there are sets of other smaller quests found in the menu under the dreamlight section of the menu. Each dreamlight quest is handily sorted into a category such as cooking, friendship, or even gardening, making them handy to find and complete.
These dreamlight quests are mini-missions that may task the player to harvest mushrooms, sell some fruit or even feed the squirrels. Once the required amount has been completed, head into the dreamlight menu once more to complete the quest. Once handed in players will receive payment in the form of dreamlight, which is used to remove the pesky thorns throughout the castle grounds and valley.
