Some teaser footage for the Arkane Studios-developed stealth-action release Dishonored 2 leaks just hours ahead of Bethesda’s E3 2016 press conference.
It’s no secret that not only is Dishonored 2 one of the most anticipated games to be shown at E3 2016, but it is also one of the year’s most eagerly awaited titles. As a matter of fact, some fans are so hyped about the game finally being released that a bit of teaser footage for the stealth-action release has made its way online following a leak just before Bethesda’s E3 showcase this evening.
Although the leaked video for Dishonored 2 is certainly exciting, it’s worth noting that the clip’s quality is both incredibly short, and not of the highest quality. Of course, since the teaser was released just hours before the official footage is to be shown at Bethesda’s press conference, fans may want to wait until the game’s publisher reveals the action with much smoother visuals.
As seen in the footage below, not much is given in the way of concrete details other than the fact that Dishonored 2 will feature plenty of swordplay, supernatural elements, as well as Victorian and Gothic elements for the game’s environments and designs. Nevertheless, a short length is the nature of teasers, as it’s been designed to only give a glimpse of the project, rather than an all-encompassing idea of its contents. So, bearing this in mind, it’s pretty remarkable to see how many different ideas are jammed into the clip’s final cut.
Considering the brevity of the Dishonored 2 teaser, it’s possible that the clip could be used as an interstitial advertisement rather than a proper trailer. Not to mention, since it offers up relatively few pieces of information, fans should expect Bethesda to fully flesh out more core concepts of the title by touching on the roles of the dual protagonists Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano, and discussing more gameplay features. Speaking of which, it would be a shame if the publisher didn’t use its platform at E3 to show off any of Dishonored 2‘s power combinations.
Whatever Bethesda reveals for Dishonored 2 tonight is anyone’s guess, but practically every fan can agree that the game has a stacked cast of heavy-hitting voice actors, indicating a sizable budget, which will surely be used to fund the development of well-designed gameplay. At any rate, with the publisher’s press conference just a short while away, all we can do is hope to see more great things for Dishonored 2.
