Following the reveal of Dishonored 2‘s Death of the Outsider expansion at E3 2017, fans of the stealth-action franchise have been curious to learn as much information as possible about the forthcoming DLC in order to determine whether or not it’s worth a day one purchase. With this being the case, Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks have officially released a brand new trailer detailing the add-on’s protagonist, Billie Lurk, in an effort to educate those who aren’t fully aware of her character, but bear in mind that potential spoilers lie in wait.

As seen below in the latest trailer for Dishonored 2‘s Death of the Outsider DLC, Arkane Studios’ creative director Harvey Smith explains Billie Lurk’s background, her motivations, as well as the new powers she will be wielding in the expansion. As Smith explains, “When we find her in Death of the Outsider, she’s sort of getting it back together. She’s finding purpose in her life again, and she’s taking action. She’s going to change things for the better.”

For those unaware, Billie Lurk has been in the Dishonored series from the very beginning, as she was there with Daud’s crew the day that Jessamine Kaldwin was assassinated in the first game, was Daud’s right hand in the initial title’s The Brigmore Witches DLC, and was living under a pseudonym in Dishonored 2 as a boat captain named Meagan Foster. So, while she’s gone through many different permutations as far as story is concerned, Lurk has also evolved physically in her role as the protagonist in Death of the Outsider.

In Dishonored 2‘s Death of the Outsider, Billie Lurk has powers and gadgets that haven’t previously been seen in the series yet, including a supernatural eyepiece called Sliver of the Eye, an arm made from chunks of the Void, as well as the sword that was originally used to sacrifice the Outsider. Plus, she wields a “Voltaic Gun” – that is, a type of electrified wrist-bow – and a talisman called “Rat Whispers” that allows her to learn certain secrets from rodents throughout the city.

While the latest trailer for Dishonored 2‘s Death of the Outsider DLC offers several glimpses at in-game action, those who want to get a gander at even more would do well to check out this gameplay trailer, as it provides ample looks at Billie Lurk’s abilities. And with the expansion set to launch next month, it will be interesting to see if it manages to meet Dishonored 2 in terms of sales, especially since it’s being touted as a standalone experience.

Dishonored 2‘s Death of the Outsider will launch on September 15, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
