Disgaea 6 brings a modern twist to its ridiculously entertaining approach to tactical RPGs. It also offers a ton of opportunities for players to maximize their battlefield presence and use unique ways to turn battles in their favor. However, outside the typical min-maxing, there's actually a lot more nuance involved in capitalizing on all the battlefield advantages players can get.

Fans need to look at Disgaea 6 a little more creatively to understand the options that allow them to outright dominate battles. Players can use these wonderful "exploits" and still have an entertaining ride against the game's unique cast of enemies.

10 Same Classes Work Great For Attack Power

Even if the game doesn't admit it, certain Classes in Disgaea 6 easily outshine others in terms of combat potential. The Pincer Shell has incredible defense, the Undead can outlast other melee characters with its high damage/defense, and the Psychic becomes overpowered with its ranged attack-ranged Specials mix. Instead of laying low and giving other Classes a shot, players should explore overpowered options as soon as possible.

This method helps players become more in-tune with the mechanics of these characters. Overusing them also lets them grow ridiculously fast, allowing players to make them emergency backups while they tinker with other Classes as well.

9 Capitalize On Damage With Team Attacks, Special Team Attacks

Why settle for a regular attack when several characters can go at it together? With a Team Attack, allies within two panels of an attacking character can join in on the fun. Aside from the sweet panel illustrations, this Team Attack does boost overall attack power.

Triggering a Special under the same circumstances can activate a Special Team Attack with adjacent allies. Considering that up to ten characters can participate in a Team Attack, an enemy on its receiving end is sure to have a bad day. Given the damage bonus of Team Attacks, they work wonders when it comes to speeding up play - quite handy in Auto-Battle and even when grinding in the Item World.

8 Size Matters For Maximum Coverage

A Dragon is a giant unit in Disgaea 6

New oversized monsters dominate Generic Monster Classes thanks to their potential in terms of battle coverage. These creatures — Dragons, Pincer Shells, and Horsemen — occupy five squares and block enemies on their path. They don't just excel isn't just in size but in their bonus capabilities as well.

All these oversized monsters attack three panels in front of them, taking on swaths of enemies at a time. They also have bonus perks that diversifies their combat potential. The Dragon gets an attack boost whenever it receives damage, the Pincer Shell boasts better defense, and the Horsemen has better reach and speed.

7 Area Attacks Still Dominate Play

Fans of RPGs know that dishing out high DPS against a solo target highlights the sheer lethality of the Rogue and Fighter archetypes but nothing beats the destructive potential of a good ol' AOE. In Disgaea 6, this principle becomes all the more important. Since Disgaea 6 has new Auto-Battle and Auto-Repeat features, single-target attacks can be a waste of a turn

When in combat, players should always prioritize using multi-target or area damage skills for maximum coverage. Attacking this way ensures characters can try annihilating the most foes while using the least amount of SP. This strategy not only decreases the time needed to clear a stage but also avoids opportunities for enemies to regain the upper hand.

6 Spamming Works Wonders

Players will notice that certain Classes and even Main Characters have signature attacks that seem ridiculously more overpowered than others — don't hesitate to use them! Spamming works wonders in the Disgaea series and players shouldn't think twice exploiting a useful combo or a nifty attack pattern that turns battles into a breeze.

Considering that some battles pit players against the likes of Lv 1,000,000 foes, having an ace up the sleeve is always helpful. Players who discover an OP attack should capitalize on improving whatever stats necessary to raise this attack's damage values.

5 Throws, Towers Make Positioning A Breeze

Lifting and Throwing remain staple mechanics in the franchise and Disgaea 6 makes them integral aspects of more complicated playstyles. With Lifts and Throws, players can have characters throw themselves much nearer to enemy combatants or even throw enemies to an area surrounded by allies.

For high-level play, players can also create stacks of characters for various purposes. Characters at the very bottom of the tower can move with everyone below it. Alternatively, characters at the very top become the last to disembark the tower, meaning they can potentially reach the very end of the map with just a round or two of throwing.

4 Geo Panels Redefine The Battlefield

Players can effectively control the battlefield through Geo Panels — special panels that grant certain Geo Effects in a stage. These effects sometimes pose a disadvantage to both players and enemies. Some effects include boosting HP and damage or even reducing those same stats. With the right tinkering, players can make Geo Effects their foe's worst nightmare.

Each Geo Effect interacts differently with each other, so players need to test how they affect their overall influence in combat. Players should try forcing enemies in Geo Panels and then destroying those panels for those sweet extra damage numbers.

3 Demon Intelligence Automates Combat

The Demon Intelligence interface

Aside from converting Disgaea 6 into a partially idle game, the Demon Intelligence system does highlight the more practical use of tested combat patterns. Demon Intelligence lets players customize a character's combat strategy in a grid system that uses an if-then system.

To maximize coverage, players should capitalize on extremely specific scenarios, especially when using certain abilities. With Demon Intelligence, players can focus on developing crucial party members while still having reliable allies to perform combat duties correctly.

2 Maximize Stat Coverage Through Super Reincarnation

Using Karma to upgrade stats after Super Reincarnation

Super Reincarnation plays a huge role in adding a more practical approach to character performance in combat. Instead of reincarnating into the same Class, a character could get more benefits reincarnating into another Class. Through this method, they get to share useful skills and Evilities that their target Class couldn't otherwise access.

This meticulous approach to Super Reincarnation does circumvent Class weaknesses. A Warrior can integrate stronger physical stats into glass cannons such as the Witch and the Thief. Alternatively, an Archer or a Gunslinger can provide much-needed ranged firepower to the Clergy or the Witch.

1 Capitalize On Monster Classes

Monster Classes boast unique properties that excel in particular styles of play. The Undead excel in the front lines with their attack power and defense, while the Sea Angel gives allies access to various buffs.

Players want to allocate party slots for Monster Classes that perform very specific combat roles. That way, they can assign the more flexible Generic Classes into other combat patterns be it through Demon Intelligence or manual play.
