Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is finally out on several platforms now, meaning more players get to explore the wild, trippy world created by the team at ZA/UM. The game originally released exclusively on PC, but now players on PS4 and PS5 can play Disco Elysium for the first time, alongside those players who own Google Stadia.

Unfortunately, not all is smooth sailing for Disco Elysium on console, as reportedly the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game have their fair share of bugs and various issues. Now, ZA/UM has announced the team is already working on the 1.3 patch for Disco Elysium, following the poor reception and rollout of the recent 1.2 patch.

The news comes straight from Disco Elysium's website via the DevBlog page, where the team made a brief post addressing the issues with the 1.2 patch. Firstly, the team recognizes that Disco Elysium's 1.2 patch failed to fix many of the issues the team claimed would be ironed out after the patch rolled out. ZA/UM admits that the team may have been a bit too ambitious at first saying, "we're all human beings dreaming big," but closed the paragraph assuring fans and players that they are going to keep trying to fix the game until they "get it right." Next, the team confirms that patch 1.3 is already being worked on, but opted not to reveal a release date for the patch just yet.

The lack of release date is likely due to the delayed rollout of patch 1.2, as the patch itself took a bit longer to release following its announcement. As for what to expect with from patch 1.3, the team lists many more specific issues such as lots of voice-over fixes, pathfinding for the player's partner Kim Kitsurage, various controller interaction issues, Thought Cabinet freezes, and various other bugs. Additionally, it's reported that most of these issues with Disco Elysium: The Final Cut are on PS5 and PS4, as the post gives specific attention to PlayStation.

It's certainly a bit of a shame, as many players' first experiences with the game are likely going to be through these versions. Disco Elysium's extremely detailed world is a treat to explore and dive into, but the various issues reported on PlayStation consoles certainly make the game look unappealing at the moment. Still, from the sound of ZA/UM's full post regarding patch 1.3 it seems that the team is fully committed to ironing out all the bugs with the game until it is as smooth as possible. Seeing as ZA/UM is not giving a release date for the 1.3 patch at the moment, the team may benefit from working on the patch without the added pressure of hitting a deadline.

Though not the most ideal solution to the problem for the time being, those players who already own the game on PC can experience Disco Elysium's new content without having to pay any extra fees as The Final Cut version is free for players who already own the game. However, it seems there are still issues here and there regarding new voice lines and some interactable objects. Hopefully, ZA/UM is able to deliver this time with patch 1.3.

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Stadia, and is in development for Switch and Xbox Series X/S.
