Most racing games today tend to be extremely realistic and more akin to simulators than how racing games have been traditionally made in the past. Gone are the day of death-defying loops and jumps in racing titles in favor of a more grounded approach, but DIRT 5 is aiming to bring back a lot of the stuff that made racing games popular, namely that unique fun factor that other games are missing.

DIRT 5 is an action-packed racing game that aims to deliver thrills around every turn and offer a more casual off-road experience that the series was previously defined by. For those who are excited about jumping into to the chaos when the game releases, here’s everything players need to know about DIRT 5.

Those who bought the Amplified Edition will be able to hit the dirt three days earlier, starting on November 3. The game will also be released with the Xbox Series X/S on November 10, and be available on PS5 when it launches November 12. Lots of Ways to Play

Just as the game is available on a wide array of platforms, the game offers tons ways to drift and tear through the varied courses and arenas available. DIRT 5 comes with 13 different classes of cars to chose from and many ways for players to customize and personalize cars to their liking. There are even some game mode specific cars such as the vampire car, while other cars range from small and mobile Super Lites to Big Trucks that can handle anything that gets thrown at them. Any way the player wants to tackle the untamed off-road, there seems to be an option suited to their preferred playstyle.

DIRT 5 offers multiple game modes to play, including a narrative-driven Career mode that will serve as the game's main form of single player gameplay. There is also multiplayer that lets players choose from the regular tried and true standard racing or multiple party modes that put fun twists on the traditional racing formula. Each of the fun party modes come with their purpose-built arenas, ensuring that these game modes can be enjoyed to their full potential. Online multiplayer is cross-generational, meaning those playing on the PS5 will be able to race with players on PS4 and vice versa. And for those who prefer a more local approach to multiplayer, DIRT 5 also offers four player split screen.

Probably the biggest game mode coming to DIRT 5 is the Playground game mode. This is a feature brand new to DIRT, and it gives players the ability to create and race in their own DIRT racing arenas. Whether players are creating tricky to complete time trial tracks or fun to drift through courses full of loops and jumps, there’s a way for anyone and everyone to express themselves using Playgrounds vast creative tools.

Dirt 5 will release November 6 for PS4 & Xbox One, November 10 for Xbox Series X/S, November 12 for PS5, and a 2021 release for Stadia.
