The launch of Dirt 5 is rapidly approaching, and developer Codemasters has just released a new video showcasing some gameplay of the racing title. While the footage isn't overly flashy, it provides excellent in-game action, showing fans what they can expect when they play Dirt 5 as it releases as a launch game on the Xbox Series X/S, as well as on the PS5 and current consoles.

The newest gameplay video specifically shows off Cape Town Stadium, a course that features off-road racing in and out of arenas and streets in South Africa. It will allow for 12 cars on the course, allowing for tight and tense races in what should be a challenging and fun course. As one of many maps in Dirt 5, Cape Town Stadium helps set the stage for what cans can expect down the road with the full game.

Dirt 5 looks great in this video, as the developer worked hard to create a game that is ready for next-gen. On the Xbox Series X, Dirt 5 will be run at 120 FPS, and also will have 4k resolution options. Codemasters also easily scaled Dirt 5 to the Xbox Series S, as well as current consoles.

The Dirt games have often attempted to thread the needle between being a simulation car game and an arcade racer. Dirt 5 focuses on the Playgrounds mode, off-road racing, a solid single-player experience, and online action. 2020 doesn't seem to be a massive year for racing titles, as even a Forza game is not coming out this year. Dirt 5 is set up well for success on next-generation consoles.

Dirt 5 will be released November 6 for PS4 & Xbox One, November 10 for Xbox Series S & X, November 12 for PS5, and a 2021 release for Stadia.
