Digimon Survive, the survival strategy role-playing game developed by Witchcraft and published by Bandai Namco, was last announced to launch in 2020. But more hints have been revealed that indicate that Digimon Survive may be getting delayed yet again.

It wasn't too long ago that Digimon Survive was still on track for a 2020 launch, but a recent piece of Twitter communication with fans from the producer on the title shows some possibly disappointing signs. Kazumasa Habu replied to a fan on Twitter that was wondering why there has been so little information recently. Habu's Google Translated tweet shows that he is apologetic for the wait.

Along with the apology, Habu claims that the team is reviewing the development team structure, which certainly doesn't sound like something that a team would do only a couple months before a launch of a game. Habu asks fans to wait a little longer before the team will share more, but it looks like Digimon Survive will be delayed for 2021 after all.

We’re currently reviewing the development team structure and refocusing the schedule for Digimon Survive. We’re coordinating with all parties concerned and plan to make an announcement on the situation in the near future. I apologize to everyone who has been looking forward to the game, but I ask that you please wait a while longer.

In the end, a delay of the game may not be a bad thing. More time to work on the team structure, the schedule, and the development as a whole could help with creating a better product. The game was first announced in August of 2018, so it hasn't been as long as a wait as say, Cyberpunk 2077. But still, interested fans will likely be bummed to not play it in 2020. In the meantime, there are quite a few solid strategy games to play in lieu of Digimon Survive.

Digimon Survive will release on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
