The Digimon Adventure reboot has revitalized the Digimon fandom since it began last year, but fans of Matt and his companion Gabumon should get ready to see the evolution of Garurumon, Metal Garurumon.

One of the biggest Digimon wikis on the internet, Wikimon, has officially teased Digimon Adventure Reboot episode 45: "Activate, Metal Garurumon" on Twitter. This episode will be the first to include the popular Metal Garurumon as the Digimon Digivolves in order to compete on an old racing circuit in Infinity Continent.

The upcoming episode of Digimon Adventure Reboot is the 45th episode in the 20th-anniversary series and it focuses on Matt and his Digimon, Garurumon. Being a fast runner and enthusiastic for a good race, Garurumon and Matt take to the old racing circuit for some quick competition.

Upon discovering the old race track on Infinity Continent, the Digidestined meet the former champion of the circuit known as Machmon, who continues to race on the track despite it being abandoned for quite some time. Garurumon and Matt are quick to challenge the recently introduced Digimon Machmon to a race, but it doesn't take long for things to get violent.

Garurumon heard rumors about Machmon on Inifinity Continent before meeting him at the old racing circuit and when the original cast of Digimon arrives, he's happy for some healthy competition. The once-popular race track is the Infinity Continent's home of the "Death Race," turning a simple competition into a potentially deadly one.

Fans of the Digimon Adventure reboot will be happy to know that this speed race turned Death Race is what inspired Garurumon to Digivolve into Metal Garurumon. According to Infinity Continent rumors that Gabumon heard, Machman used to be a clean racer before the track was abandoned, suggesting that the champion doesn't want to lose their title to the giant blue tiger Digimon.

While Matt and Garurumon are quick to accept a healthy competition, it isn't long before Machman turns the clean speed race into a Death Race, forcing Garurumon to Digivolve into Metal Garurumon. Machman shoots metal spikes from its sides that injure Garurumon when he gets too close to it. This Death Race becomes too much for Garurumon, forcing the Champion Digimon to Mega Evolve.

Machman is the current champion of Infinity Continent's racing circuit when the Digidestined arrive, but it's likely that Metal Garurmon takes its place by the end of episode 45 after Digivolving. Episodes of Digimon typically focus on a specific Digidestined and their Digimon and it looks like Matt and Gabumon are the heavy focus of episode 45.
