The Digimon Adventure English dub will premiere in Spring of 2023. Having already completed the series on the streaming service Crunchyroll, the reboot of the popular anime series will finally get its English dub later this year.

In 1999, Digimon Adventure came to the United States. The series lasted for two seasons, followed by Digimon Tamers, Digimon Frontier, and Digimon Data Squad, as well as several films. While the anime may have gone on a hiatus for a few years, the franchise continued to release various games. In 2015, the original Digimon Adventure story was continued by the film series Digimon Adventure Tri and Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna. In 2020, the original series from 1999 was rebooted with the same characters and concept and a new story.

Concluding in Japan in 2021, every episode of the 2020 reboot of Digimon Adventure has already been made available to stream with English subtitles. The dub announcement was made on Saturday, February 24 during the Digimon Fan Meetup Event in Los Angeles. The trailer for the dubbed series had been released in 2022, but no release date had been provided at the time.

The original series followed a group of seven kids who were spirited away from summer camp to the Digital World where they meet their Digimon partners. The reboot will send the same characters to the Digital World and unite them with the same partners, but will focus more on Tai/Taichi and his partner Agumon. Tai/Taichi will be voiced by Zeno Robinson, who has voiced characters in Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, and Turning Red, and Agumon will be voiced by Ben Diskin, who has lent his voice to Kingdom Hearts, DC’s Legion of Super-Heroes, and The Bad Batch.

Since the last dubbed Digimon project, fans have been able to enjoy many subbed projects, including the series Digimon Ghost Game and the video game Digimon Survive. The franchise’s return to English dub is likely a good sign for fans who wish to see its return to popularity, and could be a sign of more games, series, films, and other projects on the horizon.
