Activision Blizzard started Diablo Immortal's closed beta last year and testers have sent in tons of feedback regarding what's working in the mobile ARPG and what needs work. As a result of many Diablo Immortal fan recommendations, the Boon of Plenty will be changed to be more rewarding.
Diablo Immortal may have an open beta later this year, as Activision Blizzard continues to optimize the content and prepare the mobile ` title for a broader audience. Activision Blizzard hasn't officially confirmed a release date for Diablo Immortal, but the closed beta ran from October of last year to early January 2022 and many fans anticipate a live version of the ARPG. The developer has confirmed it's working on changes to the game based on player recommendations and is eyeing early 2022 as its release window for Diablo Immortal.
In a recent update, Activision Blizzard confirmed that the Boon of Plenty was not well received by Diablo Immortal players, and it has taken note. Because of this information, the developer Activision Blizzard is looking at ways to make the Boon of Plenty more "valuable and worthwhile" for players so that they engage with the in-game service more. One Boon of Plenty ran Diablo Immortal fans back $4.99 during the closed beta, but it's currently unclear if the replacement will follow the same pricing model as the original.
Diablo Immortal players who purchased the Boon of Plenty as it existed in the closed beta were greeted with 300 Eternal Orbs and one Rare Crest. Three Boon of Plenty's could be bought each month the closed beta was accessible, making it possible for Diablo Immortal players to buy a total of nine of the in-game service by the end of the closed beta. The Eternal Orbs are a currency that's used to purchase items in the Activision Blizzard mobile game's shop, while Rare Crest's make the Rifts more challenging and rewarding.
Not all the Diablo Immortal microtransactions have been negatively received by the community like the Boon of Plenty as the Battle Pass has been resonating well with the fans. The Diablo Immortal closed beta Battle Passes came free and included a mix of in-game rewards just like in other games that feature the additional progression system, while an upgraded Empowered Battle Pass was also available. Some items Empowered Battle Pass owners got for buying the Diablo Immortal service included Legendary Gems, Rare Crests, Honor, and equippable gear.
Diablo Immortal sparked some controversy when it was revealed at BlizzCon 2018 as a booing audience lamented a mobile Diablo title. Since the open beta, many Diablo Immortal players have spoken positively about their experiences with the mobile game which may make it more palatable for the disappointed portion of the Diablo community. Activision Blizzard hasn't stated what changes will be made to the Boon of Plenty, but it will likely offer more things if it remains the same price.
