In Diablo Immortal, many factors can dictate how strong a player feels. Gaining levels gives players access to new abilities and higher-level variants of them. Once players are level cap, they can gain Paragon levels, which add other stat boosts and give players special effects while fighting enemies.

Even getting new pieces of higher rarity gear can make players feel big increases in power. However, the most important factor regarding overall game strength in Diablo Immortal is Combat Rating. The value of this number alone controls a large percentage of the damage enemies can deal to players and the damage players can deal to enemies. Learning how to boost Combat Rating is essential for long-time progression.

Ways to Boost Combat Rating

Helliquary

Diablo Immortal

Raising Helliquary levels is a great yet overlooked way to boost Combat Rating. Players usually can find an easy way into Raids since it's extremely popular amongst the player base. Having an adequate party will be vital here, as it takes a good amount of teamwork and coordination to take down a Raid Boss.

A lot of players may be used to carrying random players or even friends through Dungeons, Elder Rift, or even Challenge Rift. However, this is an entirely different level of difficulty and is something that cannot be solo carried, currently.

Participating in Helliquary Raids are also something that doesn't need to be done frequently since it has a Weekly Reward. Clearing it once a week is enough, but it doesn't hurt to help others out or run it more often for mechanical practice for future runs.

The rewards for clearing the Raid are definitely worth the effort since here is where players can obtain Scoria.

Taking the Scoria to any Blacksmith, allows players to Refine it and use it towards leveling their Helliquary. It even provides additional slots for items that help make players stronger, specifically in Challenge Rifts.

Clearing Challenge Rifts at higher levels also increases the quality of Elder Rifts drops, which makes it something all players must focus on pushing as far as possible. Although the raw stats gained from leveling up the Helliquary may not appear as much at first glance, the stats do help and add up over time.

Gear

Diablo Immortal

Gear by default is the most common way players raise their Combat Rating. However, knowing which pieces of gear to equip and why are crucial to character development.

Most players equip anything that has a Green Arrow on it; however, taking an item that may have a bit more Vitality or Potency over one that has a lot of Strength on it (If playing a Physical Class) or Intelligence on it (If playing a Magical Class) is downright inefficient.

The next factor players must consider when looking at Gear is the Gear Score on it. This is one of the main contributors to Combat Rating and shouldn't be overlooked without good reason, such as the aforementioned one. Lastly, Gear Rarity is the final thing players must be attentive towards.

The rarities from worst to best are:

  • Common (Gray)
  • Magical (Blue)
  • Rare (Yellow)
  • Legendary (Orange) / Set (Green).

The higher the rarity of an item, the more Stat Affixes can come along with it. Having an extra stat line makes a world of a difference towards the Combat Rating Score, especially when they're priority stats for the Class being used.

Gems

Diablo Immortal

Socketing Gems in most MMORPGs usually feels like a no-brainer. It's just something players typically do for a small stat bonus, and it's fairly straightforward most of the time.

However, with Diablo Immortal, it's much different, makes a huge impact, and requires quite a bit of foresight and strategy. Legendary Gems give players special effects and abilities that vary from Gem to Gem.

Choosing which Legendary Gems to aim for can prove quite difficult, especially when players are still experimenting with build paths and are leveling up. However, once players have figured out their main build path, they can start aiming to craft, purchase or hunt down the Legendary Gems they need.

The next thing to acknowledge is that only certain Legendary Gems exist at different star levels. Some 1-star and 2-star gems are different than 5-star gems, which is why it's usually better for players to start with a basic 1 / 2-star gem setup before trying to aim for a 5-star setup.

The final reason why Legendary Gems are so important for Combat Rating is Resonance. Resonance is a stat that is only obtained from Legendary Gems and becomes higher the more Legendary Gems players have equipped and the higher the Star level of the Gems is.

Resonance increases all stats by a percentage. Percentage gains are extremely valuable since they only become higher the more powerful players become. For example, 5% of 100 is only 5, but 5% of 1,000,000 is 50,000. That's a huge difference and will only add more and more value the further players reach into the game.

Diablo Immortal is available on Android and iOS devices.
