Diablo Immortal is now available across mobile devices and PC, an earlier than expected release for the already controversial Blizzard game. At the heart of the conversation surrounding Diablo Immortal is the game's heavy implementation of microtransactions and randomized rewards. However, it seems that another controversy may yet be brewing. Evidence is growing that cheating has already made its way into Diablo Immortal less than a full day after the game was delivered on PC.

Several clips from Twitch streamer wudijo appear to show a powerful cheat beating used while playing Diablo Immortal's 8v8 PvP mode Battleground. The clips show a Necromancer named Burn using a cheat allowing them to spam their Bone Spikes ability with no cooldown, effectively turning it into a channeled ability and doing massive damage. There's no clear indication of how the Necromancer is able to do the cheat, but they're able to do it multiple times, showing that it's clearly done with intent.

Twitch streamer wudijo encounters Burn across multiple matches, both as their teammate and their opponent. In one clip, the Necromancer is able to use the cheat to quickly kill a Sacred Guardian, a PvE mob that needs to be defeated for the team to progress. What would take another 30 seconds for widijo to defeat, the Necromancer kills in 2 seconds. When facing the Necromancer as an opponent, wudijo dies just as quickly. However, since the cheat requires the Necromancer to remain stationary, wudijo's team is able to kill him in trade.

The cheating Necromancer wasn't found just in widijo's matches, either. Another person shared a screenshot on Reddit showing Burn cheating in their PvP match, too. However, while this player, Burn, has shown they've found a way to cheat in Diablo Immortal, if others are doing the same there hasn't been any evidence shared within the community just yet.

Another question without an answer is whether the cheat being used by the Necromancer can be used in PvE. It would certainly be useful in PvE, as shown by how quickly the Necromancer killed the Guardian Spirit. There's no indication that it's being widely used in PvE yet, however. Diablo Immortal's PvE leaderboards seem to remain intact, though, hilariously that could just mean normal players have paid enough to remain ahead of the curve of cheaters.

It's still very early to make a determination regarding how prolific cheating and exploits will be in Diablo Immortal. Blizzard may have an aggressive response to cheaters, though this Necromancer being able to go through multiple matches without punishment shows there's work to be done. If cheating grows out of hand it could prove an even bigger controversy than Diablo Immortal's monetization.

Diablo Immortal is available now on PC, iOS, and Android.
