The Serpentine Path is a Campaign Quest in Diablo 4's Act 5, and it instructs players to follow the serpent with their allies. While it is actually very simple to complete this task, the in-game map may cause some confusion among fans that are working on this quest. This complete walkthrough of Diablo 4's The Serpentine Path quest is here to dispel that confusion, and it will help players follow the serpent with their allies.

To note, it is possible for the allies to get stuck or disappear in the early stages of this quest, and that seems to occur when players navigate to the west side of the giant serpent. If a fan finds that their allies are indeed bugged, they should simply exit to the character select screen and reenter the game. These actions will cause this Diablo 4 main quest to reset, giving players another chance to stay on the east side of the serpent.

Follow the Serpent With Your Allies

Upon initiating the Serpentine Path quest, players should head northward and speak with Neyrelle on the east side of the giant serpent. When that conversation comes to a close, players should continue northward, following along the serpent's east side in order to reach the Sinking Detritus. Indeed, while it is not indicated on the mini-map, there is a path that leads up from Neyrelle's position within Diablo 4's Hawezar, and it has been highlighted on the image that is above.

Survive the Ambush

In the Sinking Detritus, the giant serpent will curve eastward, and players should follow it to trigger a conversation between Lorath and Neyrelle. This conversation will be interrupted by an ambush that fans must fight off, and Neyrelle will crawl through a gap underneath the serpent once all the enemies have been dispatched. Players will then need to survive yet another ambush, which is very similar to the preceding combat encounter, and Neyrelle will eventually lower a ladder to be climbed.

Beyond the ladder, fans will find the Venom-Drenchned Path, and the Serpentine Path quest will be replaced with the Dirge of the Mire quest as soon as they enter this area. This new quest will once again have players following the serpent through the swamp, and they will fight a variety of Diablo 4 enemies along the way. In fact, there are several objectives within Dirge of the Mire that center around slaying foes, and fans are thus advised to prepare themselves for battle.

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
