Over 40 minutes of fresh Diablo 4 gameplay footage has leaked online. Diablo 4 is the next entry in Blizzard's iconic top-down action-RPG franchise. Announced back in November 2019 at BlizzCon, not many updates were given on Diablo 4 in the years following its reveal. In late 2021, Diablo 4 was delayed alongside Overwatch 2, with a release date for the former title only being given in June of this year. Currently, Diablo 4 is set for a 2023 launch window, but Blizzard has been revealing more about the game recently.

From gameplay to how the classes will work in Diablo 4, Blizzard has been giving fans closer looks at different aspects of the game in the run-up to its release. There's been somewhat of a look at the story, too, and without giving away too much, Blizzard has revealed that Diablo 4 will continue the epic saga set up by the previous entries of the franchise. Also, a new villain will be introduced in the form of Lilith, who has featured in the series' lore before but never as a primary antagonist.

While Blizzard has been showing off a lot when it comes to Diablo 4, this hasn't stopped leakers from finding and revealing some other footage. Recently, around 40 minutes of footage from an early build of Diablo 4 was spotted online, showing off a good look at the game, including plenty of combat, as well as some quests. Even in what is clearly not the final product, Diablo 4 still looks like it is in a good state, though this may be hard to see with the watermarks left over the gameplay footage.

The reason these watermarks are in place is because this footage likely comes from Blizzard's Friends and Family Alpha test, which was supposed to be a private reveal of an early build of the game. However, footage from the Diablo 4 alpha has leaked previously, with some recordings being spotted back in August. If someone did leak gameplay from that private test, it is expected that Blizzard will be able to tell where that leak came from.

It is likely that, with the leaked gameplay being over 40 minutes, it will be taken down soon. For fans who want to see an official reveal of Diablo 4 gameplay instead, as stated, Blizzard has shown off some footage, with the most recent look displaying how the Necromancer class fits into the RPG.

Diablo 4 will launch in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
